A Shot Of Paranoia and a Beer For My Horse
EggOrChicken23 September 2019
I don't know if this captures what being a loner is, rather than the way others see our daily lives, but it does draw a clear line for both sides to consider. Ultimately, the strongest truth it sheds light on is paranoia. The struggle is real folks!

Heartfelt Comedy
MayhemFilmKreations12 November 2019
Loners has a great story line and good joke for a laugh. It shows how people can have the desire to be alone but still can break down to be there for someone to confine in and lean on when needed. Good watch.

Enough fake reviews!
cjwilkinson-818085 June 2019
I'm getting so tired of fake reviews it finally drove me to join IMDb. All six (glowing) reviews for this movie are from brand new members of IMDb who have only reviewed 1 movie - i.e. this one. In other words, they are obviously personally involved with the making of it.

The sad thing is, they didn't need to - it's really not that bad that it needs the cast to pretend to be objective reviewers to big-up the movie.

The concept is a very good and original idea - but I find myself being far more motivated to rail against all the fake reviews than comment on the movie, which says a lot in itself about the movie's overall impact.

IMDb needs to delete reviews obviously posted by the people who made them. They do the movies themselves no favours, and just devalue the whole thing.

This film is sweet, funny and heartfelt.
kamipaul1 June 2019
Loners is a fun, heartfelt movie about a group of people just wanting to be themselves and who just might need to learn to lean on each other for support in spite of their desires to be alone. We all have a little bit of each of these characters in ourselves, or know someone in our lives who are Loners. This is not a political film, it's a satire, a good watch, has a great score, and fun characters with a fun little twist.

Great Indie Comedy for All
whitekori2 June 2019
Loners was a great expression of true and contemporary problems that certain people face in today's society. It was a perfect solution for the triggering need to smile and laugh. There are both cleaver and obvious jokes that bring together a great story with an involved and convincing cast of characters. Highly recommended for a night of laughter.

Thoroughly enjoyable and rewards multiple viewings. Perfect movie for a saturday night when you want to be entertained but not pandered to. The two guys in the van and swedish furniture bits get better every time. Please make more movies like this!

Super dry humor, makes you chuckle, and gives you the warm fuzzies a la Breakfast Club!
angiechan841 June 2019
Let's be honest. I didn't go into a "micro-budget" (who knew there were even MICRO budgets! is that like my clothes shopping budget?) indie film expecting an Oscar. But I watched it and OMG I actually laughed out loud and kind of fell in love with this team of misfits.

(can I please have a girls night with Frannie and Senise? I'll up my wardrobe game ASAP).

The movie is a satire, so if you are into satires - GO WATCH THIS. If you don't get satires (and don't like poking fun at fake-IKEA) - go watch something else. This movie is about what happens when a government is more willing to scapegoat real people with real lives than actually solve its problems. Hello... timely.

It was so much fun seeing that Walking Dead King Ezekiel guy in such a wacky role. And Stephen Tobolowsky! Dude! How'd they get him in here? He's awesome! The acting is overall just so good so watch the movie for that.

Support independent films and watch them!! This one will entertain you and give you the feels and also provide some intellectual social commentary on what happens in our daily lives.

Creative and fun

This movie was so much fun. Totally makes you without trying too hard. I have no idea what the nut job review with gun stats is talking about. This movie is smart but doesn't write checks that can't cash. Highly recommended.

Timely & hilarious!

This movie is very clever! Tackles gun reform and lonliness with spades of humor. The characters were awesome and the story plays on those little seeds of paranoia in the back of your mind. Highly recommend!

Had to be an indie because it hits very close to the truth of our current culture...
dgallaher-1126528 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Sure, this movie is cute, funny and very entertaining but the underlying truth is that this how our society has become. A snowflake minority makes a loud racket and certain groups of our citizens become outcasts because of their actions or what they believe. You have guns, you must be someone who might be dangerous or your some kind of threat to society (Franny getting searched at the mall by a rent-a-cop just because she has been singled out by some government agency and publicly shamed by being forced to wear a scarlet letter). Smokers were made pariahs, some began vaping and now government groups wish to do the same thing, saying they are protecting people from themselves. This movie was loads of fun but look to the underlying truths and they are scary for our country and the world in general. If you enjoyed this movie then check out IDIOCRACY (2006), very funny but the underlying truths are even more worrisome.

Funny Satire
JGReviews15 July 2019
Loners is a very funny comedy. This type of film is exactly what I needed right now. Loners is an over-the-top satire about an America where loners are rounded up as a governmental program to supposedly combat gun violence, where the loners must attend weekly Lone-anon meetings and wear an "L" headband like a scarlet letter. I really like this film because it doesn't hold back and has a number of big, bold comedic performances by a very talented ensemble cast. If you're looking for a unique, imaginative, and well-acted satire, then check out Loners!

Great cast with very relatable, likeable characters. Loners really spoke to me and made me think while also making me laugh and enjoy myself. I've watched this movie a few times now and still laugh out loud every time! I wish more movies were like this.

A most see film for all!
gabecooper-764553 July 2019
Very good concepts about anti-socialism! I could see the reality of it. I mean there are so many loners in the world. It easy to get outcast. It's story I could relate too. A very good cast, funny, very funny, and of course it stars one of my favorite actors, Khary Payton. He's just awesome!

I watched it in a theater and had to buy my own copy
lturrou-645815 June 2019
I loved it the first time I saw it on the screen, but there were so many clever details to the story I needed to see it again! SO, I bought my own copy and watched it a couple more times (so far). The actors, all I have seen before, help create a satirical comedy that is great fun to watch as it also touches my heart. The story moves from crazy fun to sweet emotion. DEFINITELY A MUST SEE!

As a loner, this spoke to me. As someone with a sense of humor, it cracked me up in several places. I own it and will watch again when I get the chance.

Really Clever!
DavidDeanBottrell14 August 2019
Congrats to the filmmakers for creating a unique, funny, weirdly touching (for me) film. Speaking as a loner (who has to pretend like I'm not) it struck a few deep chords for me. Please check this out. I really love it when artists strike out on their own and create films that are personal and true to their own personal visions!! Look forward to seeing what this team does next.

Original, charming, funny, relevant
carokali14 August 2019
I enjoyed Loneliness, a sort of meek humorous variation of Big Brother, where an omniscient state tracks down loners as deviant and candidates for obligatory treatment. A cast of likable characters make for affectionate amusing entertainment, in a story which has something more profound to say about our modern world.

Smart and Hilarious
TheAll-SeeingI18 October 2019
In this day in which the "incel" and his tendency to open fire on humans runs parallel to hideous governmental overreach, art has finally accepted its satirical charge by addressing both in Eryc Tramonn's brilliant social comedy, "Loners."

In an absurdist response to acts of violence, the dystopian government of "Loners" logically concludes that the introverts prone to perpetuating these acts need aggressive socialization -- they need friends, and the kind of friends who will keep them under tight authoritarian watch. You'll know a Loner when you see one, because they're adorned with a curiously hotwired headband accompanied by the billboarded letter "L." Socialize, Loners, or you'll be "disappeared." Awesome.

Accompanied by outstanding acting from Brian Letcher, Tyson Turrou, David Christian Welborn, and Melissa Paladino, the writing is top shelf, leveraging subcutaneous dark comedy which often breaks the surface with truly informed hilarity. "Loners" is a master class in subtle, biting, and socially telling comedy.

Fun & Unique Satire!
melissacenter13 November 2019
I didn't know what to expect from this film, but was delightfully surprised.

The premise is unique - individuals who consider themselves introverts are deemed a threat to society. Why? Because the stories we hear of mass shootings are typically perpetrated by .... "loners."

The cast is quirky and fun.

The concept gets you thinking.

Definitely worth a watch!

LONERS - engaging, outrageous fun
suzford4 June 2019
Haven't been this entertained in a long while. The film, which begins as a farce, is so engaging you're soon rooting so hard for the characters, agonizing and even weeping with them a couple of times, that the whole set up takes on a deeper emotional meaning. I love these guys. The script is crazy funny, clever and poignant, with a really neat twist at the end. The acting is superb, from every one of the gifted cast. The direction and cinematography are swift, accomplished and smart. The music adds a delightful layer. I honestly cannot wait to watch it again.

I really like this comedy...make me laugh. But there's more to it than comedy.
bobaloo-909-5692505 June 2019
I didn't know what to expect when I watched this film...it's an indie, and sometimes they're just a waste of time. But this one was different. It was very professionally done, great music and special effects, but what I enjoyed the most is how the group of "loners" got together and triumphed over some government know-it-alls and ended up realizing that being united brings people closer together. It made me better appreciate how joining with others feels really good.

super successful satire
caseykilloran14 November 2019
This is such fun writing. You get to go to a whole other world in this film and I love seeing that. Such original content. It also is smart writing. It leaves you with questioning your own society. Which I think is super successful satire. Funny script and unique characters. If you love indie movies and satire I suggest checking it out.

Original, funny, relevant
JCanni686 April 2020
An original clever and witty premise makes for a fun film that provides social commentary and affirms all of us "loners". The casting is great, and each character is colourful and plays off each other well, providing plenty of laughter-filled scenarios. The film at it's core has a lot of heart, and is worth checking out.

Funny and Original Movie
Loners is a super fun, funny and original film. I'm sure theirs social commentary about the effects of technology somewhere underneath the surface. But for me it was a really funny movie made with a great cast and a uniques point of view. Loners definitely desires a watch.
