'Battle of the Sexes' opens with women's lib, but it's really all over the road, moving into homosexuality, Roe v Wade and pornography. As an episode, it's another eye-opener because there really was a seismic shift in the culture at that time; and the factions on either side were out for blood. I was kinda surprised to hear the same moralizing and family crisis doomsaying we hear today (politics never changes, I guess).
I think the best thing this episode does is to crystallize the women's rights battle around the tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. Nothing drives home a point like a sports metaphor.
