Monolith (2016)

Goofs

Monolith

Edit

Continuity

When Sandra is shown driving on open roads in the exterior shots, in the interior shots the outside area is residential with buildings.

Factual errors

While driving out of the canyon, Lilith says "collision detected" several times, yet the SUV had not collided with anything. It should have said "obstacle detected" as each time there was a large rock in the path of the SUV.
A "solid" vehicle with heavy armor and bullet proof glass ISN't climbing that hill! Hwy tires or rocket engines, it really don't matter..

Plot holes

When Sandra first trespasses in the power station to call on the phone for help which the phone line is busy, why didn't she shut off the power. It would've got the electrical workers to investigate the power outage and they would've sent a tow truck to help her out to save her trapped baby boy inside.
The child's movements while Sandra is in the store: She sits him on the counter to pay, he is too small to jump down, and we don't see her set him back on the floor. The next time we see him he's standing in one of the aisles while Sandra talks to another customer. During this less than 20 second conversation, no one enters or leaves the store as there is a bell on the door and we don't hear it. After she checks the store, the child is found outside in the parking lot.
The coyote would go after the fresh roadkill before it would attack another living creature. This was eventually the case.
Vehicles hitting an animal the size of a deer do not drag the animal under the vehicle as shown. It is deflected away from the vehicle. The only way an animal could be dragged under the SUV was if it had been laying in the road to start with.
The engine of the SUV is not running (no air conditioning) and the outside temperature is shown as 90 degrees and climbing eventually to 108 degrees when some type of fan started. At just 90 degrees, even a healthy child would die within 2 hours. An asthmatic child in a fur suit would last less time.
