The characters are stuck on an island and rescue efforts are hampered by a severe storm. However, outside the skies are clear and blue. The person they are talking with on the phone is in a location which shows no signs of any storm.
A character in the film states that he has lived on the island all his life. He states that he has never seen a shark in his entire time living there. Then an outsider states that the island location was used for experiments because of the high amount of sharks activity around.
