Humorous Christian Movie

I've watched numerous Christian movies since I am a Bible teacher. Most are extremely "cheesy" and overdo the message or theme they are trying to get across. While this movie has a little bit if the "cheese" factor to it, it was surprisingly different from what you would expect (other than the happy ending). This movie uses subtlety when most Christian movies don't. There are some genuinely laugh out loud moments and the message is not smashed over your head a hundred times. For those wanting to see a good family, Christian movie watch "A Man Called Jon. "

"A Man Called Jon" is a light-hearted comedy. Pastor Terrell Carson has been ostracized from churches due to his worship style. This White Pastor is sent to an African-American church and, while the congregation is more welcoming, challenges still ensue. As it increasingly becomes difficult to find a family movie, with Christian principles, that the entire family can enjoy..."A Man Called Jon" was a breath of fresh air. It was funny, yet had a message about being true to oneself; as well as stressed the importance of following and waiting on God.

This film was made in 2015, but I'm seeing it now for the first time on the recommendation of family. It is a simple little film with no CGI, nothing blows up, and there are no naked bodies. It deals with real things in realistic life in a small town in East Texas that we blitz through on I-20 when heading to DALLAS.

But this movie has soul.

Good Christian Movie

I really enjoyed this movie. It's one of the best Christian movies around, in my opinion.

I love churches with a positive feel, where you are fed by God's Word.

Always Be True To Yourself

I have to be honest, A Man Called Jon is a pure delight!! it has a wonderful message about being true to yourself and never backing down when the world tries to force you to fit into it's certain view of you. Jon has a problem. the church he pastors doesn't approve of his style of worship. it embarrasses them. it embarrasses his family. so where does he go from here? A Man Called Jon handles this situation with sensitivity, faith and most importantly humor and joy. if we can't find joy in this life, we're doing it wrong :) i overwhelmingly recommend A Man Called Jon. one of the best i've seen in a long, long time.
