SIRENS AND SCREAMS is an indie sci-fi drama from Croatia, of all places. The hook is that this 78 minute feature was shot in a single take, which is always an intriguing test of skill and stamina for a film crew. A shame, then, that the material is so lightweight and unappealing; the setting is a dystopian city that looks very much like our own, and the characters are in search of a missing corpse. The whole plot just jumps from person to person and features endless conversations which go nowhere; the end feeling is 'why bother?'.
