Noted artist-designer
Tony Duquette's exhibit, "A Personal Culture," a glittering display of design jewelry, assemblage, fabric mosaics, sculpture and other art objects, attracted the enthusiasm of large crowds and was held over.
King Vidor, among others, was so turned on by Duquette's fantastic creations that he filmed them, using the cinema department of USC. "The inspiration of the film, and the exhibit, is to project the visual expansion of consciousness, the infinite possibilities of articulated awareness of mind," according to the artist.
