Disaster colossus
TheLittleSongbird10 September 2018
Was expecting very little from 'Tsunambee'. It just sounded ridiculous and blatantly derivative, with a head-scratching premise, a cheap cover that looked like something for a SyFy or Asylum film and nothing but bad things about it. Do have an appreciation for the genre and there are decent low-budget films out there, so saw it anyway.

Saw 'Tsunambee' with an open mind as partly as my low-budget completest quest, have developed a lot of quests recently thanks to the recommended for you section. Even when taking it for what it is and really wanting to not dislike it, 'Tsunambee' turned out to be that bad. Not one of the worst low-budget viewings seen recently but close.

Just for the record, giving a film the lowest possible rating is incredibly rare for me these days (before yesterday had not given anything in it for weeks), trying to be a fair reviewer trying to see the good in everything viewed. That rating is only reserved for films etc. that look like no effort or heart was put into it and like nobody was trying, a cardinal sin in film but actually not committed all that often. 'Tsunambee' is one such film.

Visually, 'Tsunambee' looks incredibly cheap even for something made on a low budget. It has such a drab look and as an epileptic the constantly over-kinetic camera work and dizzying editing made me feel ill and queasy. Not to mention the continuity errors galore. Even worse are some of the most laughable and pathetic-looking special effects to be seen on celluloid, actually looking they were done as an afterthought and on the small remainder of the money they had left.

Can remember little about the music, which tended to be intrusive, annoying and out of place. The script is so awkward, cheesy and improvisatory-sounding that it is enough to make the toes curl in how awful it is. The threat on top of looking terrible have no personality at all let alone any menace and their scenes have no suspense whatsoever.

There is absolutely nothing thrilling, tense, suspenseful, emotionally investable or fun about the story. The predictability may have been forgivable if the film was actually engaging let alone exciting but it fails to be either throughout, and is further ruined by incoherent structuring as a result of trying in throw in far too much, some of it coming over as weird and completely out of place. 'Tsunambee' is basically non-stop dullness and intelligence-insulting ridiculousness, with unintentional humour because of the excessive cheese and increasingly irritating and illogical character behaviours that makes one endear to them even less in a film with not one interesting or rootable character.

Amateur dramatics pantomimes and high school productions have better acting than the all-round poor standard seen here, that doesn't even have dependable actors trying to save it or ones giving career-worst performances going for it.

Summing up, dreadful (a word not used often by me these days). 1/10 Bethany Cox

Must Watch Disasterpiece
mwillie-1488213 April 2020
I love horrible movies. I've been binge watching them on Amazon. I've seen everything from Sharktopus Vs WHALEWOLF to I was a Teenage Wereskunk. Tsunambee is in a league of its own. While the previous movies are self-aware of their own campiness, Tsunambee is painfully unaware of it. Tsunambee is hands down the worst movie I have ever seen. It is now *the* movie I tell people they need to see and I truly believe it will stand the test of time. The original score and totally inane nonsensical POST-ending perfectly compliment the overall film. This disasterpiece was made possible by indiegogo so please continue to support your local art and artists because I genuinely love experiencing these train wrecks caught on film.

Skip it

As a big fan of B-horror and monster movies, take my advice and don't bother with this one. The technical issues- learn to use a camera outside maybe, or make it seem like the bees are really there just one time?- and sub-B-grade acting only underscored the lack of a script, story, or payoff. I struggle to understand why this was made.

Oops this is Mess
schlagzeugplayer2 September 2020
It's a biblical catastrophe movie, it's a giant bee movie, it's a zombie movie and has social consciousness messages . All encapsulated in the end of days w very amateurish filmmaking, odd dialog and a story that seems to change w the characters. An occasional zombie and there's the very inconsistant story. Now the camera work is sometimes like it was done w some ones phone. Which I found out the budget was 370,000 ok, for what? The cgi is bad, some of the camera work boggles the mind and is ludicrous. So if you want the modern equivalent of plan 9 yup theres that but not as much fun. Its just a very bad movie. The ending is also another moment of smh.

Waspnado? Beenado?
jimjamjames25 December 2018
Unsure why it's titled Waspnado in the UK. Why not Beenado? Given that there are no wasps in the movie. The protagonist was the only plausable actor. The effects were very questionable. Palatable narrative, nothing new, but the pacing was watchable. $780,000 budget? Would like to know where the budget went....

Bad movie repellent advised!
Stevieboy66627 January 2022
UK title "Waspnado", I assumed that this was going to be a horror/silly comedy B-movie along the lines of "Sharknado", only with flying insects. Wrong! Incredibly it takes itself quite serious though the outcome is simply ludicrous. This borefest is dialogue heavy and seems to be more about God and religious faith than swarms of killer wasps. Acting, terrible. Plot, terrible. Cinematography, terrible. 'Special" effects, terrible. The fact that when victims are stung they turn in to zombies just adds to the incredible mess that this Zzzzz movie is. Give it a miss and don't get stung!

I Am Definitely In The Minority Here
MissAnnThrope15 February 2022
I watched this last night and I have to say, this was a treat. It takes itself way too seriously, it seems to have been funded by a church, and the woman playing the Sheriff shares the last name of the person listed for the ministry. But it is a joy.

Yes, there are bizarre Christian symbols in this. Yes, the storyline seems disjointed. But if you are a lover of truly strange movies, don't pass this up.

The CGI is far better than something like Birdemic. They actually put in effort with this film. It is not a perfect movie for lovers of so bad it's good, but it is a fun romp, especially with friends.

Watch it in the right frame of mind. Don't expect straight up comedy, but expect something very different. This needs a sequel so badly.
