Another episode where King Simon is off screen and absent. Weird, considering it is the palace masquerade ball. You'd assume the king would be there for such an event.
That he isn't allows for Queen Helena to reunite with her soldier-lover, whom she kissed briefly a few episodes ago, sketching in a little more detail about her history, prior to her becoming the queen.
Nick, Ophelia and Liam are caught in a "nice-off" and Gemma is annoyed. At one point, Ophelia suggests Liam and Nick should date. The Liam/Ophelia will-they-won't-they thing is starting to get old. Like, wee or get off the pot already! And then, mercifully at the end of the episode, we get what we want.
On the flip side of things: Jasper and Eleanor are caught up in anything but a "nice-off" at least their relationship is moving forward, even if it's in a disturbing manner.
