I love the show, but after watching two shows, I probably will not watch it again. The premise is great (although I dislike stupid "deadlines") I restore and modify old cars and motorcycles into Hot Rods, Customs, and Choppers. Been doing this as a hobby since 1960. The reason I will not watch the show any longer is because of the goof ball with the white beard. I also sport a long beard but the difference is, I go to the dentist regularly, I speak understandable English, and I don't make a fool of myself every time I open my mouth. He destroys the show. Too bad, I, and many others watch these shows because we like to see people saving and renovating old vehicles or even houses, but whoever the brain surgeon writers are, who thinks annoying old, (or young) farts with bad attitudes help the show, they are out to lunch. If he is such an important part of the crew, let him be seen but not heard. That is my opinion, Thank You, Ross

A Southern fried marine version of Counting Cars

Warning: Spoilers
OK, my lovely wife and I caught a couple of episodes of Animal Planet's Flipping Ships the other night. The premise is very similar to the History Channel's Counting Cars. Flipping Ships is the tales of a Greenville SC area shop that restores old boats. They find a old boat and fix it up with various adventures along the way. As a native son of the Great State of South Carolina, I was very familiar with many of the locations involved. The characters are likable even if at times overplayed. All in all it's a decent show. My main gripe is the show is way too long at an hour. they spend a lot of time standing back and looking at their progress. While I do that in some of my projects, it doesn't add much viewer value. Either two projects in an hour show or just a half hour show might be a much better way to go. If you enjoy the beauty and quirkiness of South Carolina and Counting Cars, then this show is a good bet.
