Jackie Gleason: The Big Man (2011)
*** (out of 4)
Another good featurette that can be found on Fox's Blu-ray release of THE HUSTLER. This documentary, as the title clearly gives away, focuses on the life and career of Jackie Gleason who really made a big jump in his career thanks to the 1961 classic with Paul Newman. Film historians discuss Gleason's early life on the comedy stage and how he ended up in television and then wanting to do something more than comedy. At just 13-minutes this thing really can't go into great detail about Gleason but I thought it was a well-produced featurette that fans of the legend should enjoy. The thing will especially be beneficial to those not overly familiar with Gleason since it does a nice job at explaining what made him so great with his talents.
