The role of "Elvis" is played by Rudy Tutti Grayzell, the father of Rockabilly music. Rudy was Elvis Presley's very first opening act for two years, when both were teenagers. Rudy was playing guitar with Roy Orbison in the back of a pick-up truck one drunken night, surrounded by alligators, when he conceived the name 'Rockabilly.'
Rudy Grayzell and executive producer-writer Rider McDowell first worked together in McDowell's hit comedy play "Night Nite San Francisco" in San Francisco in 2001.
Beau Cassidy is the son of "Partridge Family" star David Cassidy.
Susan Olsen came out of a self-imposed retirement to play Mama Claus because she thought the script was "Sickening and hilarious," adding "And that's rare!"
Errol McDowell, age 15, is a published author ("Brain Frizzlers" 2014). Family friend Fred Wolf cast him in his "Joe Dirt II." Errol is also an accomplished pianist.
