Wonderfully written satire of fame and all that come along with that ride. Well acted and well written. Recommend.

Clever faux-doc on one man's path toward desired fame. Fun, serious, and unexpected moments with good actors in a thoughtful story. Recommend.

Our world today

A fun, humorous, sometimes dark look at living life in the 24/7 stream. This really is our world today, just pushed a little more for effect. But we're all part of and glued to the omnipresent stream. This movie is a delicious deep dive into that reality. Well acted and written, with just enough real amidst the chaos to keep us engaged. Fun to see Lou Ferrigno!

A very fun film!

I completely enjoyed this little gem of a film! The actors I felt were all very good and importantly, believable. The actors were not over the top which is often a complaint of mine watching indie films. My wife and I were looking to entertained for the evening and we were not disappointed with our choice. I easily give this film a "thumbs up".

Great social commentary on the desire for fame

Thought provoking and original. The Next Big Thing is a fresh and modern take on the desire for fame and how far people are willing to go

Documentary style narrative story telling is one of the handset things to do and this succeeded in bringing the genre to a new place.

Funny Indie Comedy About Trying to Create the Next Big Thing
JGReviews21 April 2021
The Next Big Thing is a fun and funny indie comedy. Chuck wants to film his reluctant friend Julian's everyday life and make it into a movie. I really liked the line: "We're making a movie about being famous... so I can become famous." It felt like that really spoke to modern day celebrity culture and the seemingly near universal yearning to be the next breakout Youtube or social media star. But what I think makes The Next Big Thing refreshing to me is Julian's reluctance and unease about all of this, and the messiness that ensues, as well as the raw nature of a friend just kind of picking up a camera and following you around that felt more realistic and unpolished as compared to what would occur in a Hollywood production of a similar plot line. The acting is also pretty good here and you'll notice some familiar faces like Jonathan Lipnicki ("the human head weighs eight pounds" haha), Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk!), and others. Enjoy!
