At the beginning of the episode, Jake excitedly tells the Librarians that the chupacabra (a legendary cryptid animal) is making beef jerky. At the end of the episode, the Librarians can be seen eating the jerky while they recover.
Sesselman makes a reference to Jenkins being "incorruptible". This is in reference to his true identity of Galahad, known as the purest of all Arthur's knights, and therefore the only one able to find the Holy Grail.
In the deals-with-devils talk, Stone mentions Robert Johnson. Johnson was a phenomenally talented Delta Blues singer, songwriter, musician who became a major musical influence before dying at age 27. He was so good so young that after his death folks suggested he had made a deal with the devil.
Michael Trucco appears as Sam Denning. Trucco also appeared in Battlestar Galactica (2004) where the word "frack" was used as an expletive. In this episode there is a small business called Frack whose name is displayed prominently on its window.
At 16:22 Ezekiel spins Munchausen's Top. Baron von Munchausen was an 18th century German officer known for bragging about his life experiences. The top looks like a Hanukkah dreidel.
