- Sheriff Walt Longmire: So
- [clears throat]
- Sheriff Walt Longmire: I'm sorry that I accused you of drug trafficking. It's just, you know, there were stolen drugs at your church meeting, same drugs that I saw here, and, uh, well, you can see how that looked.
- Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan: So, you're sorry but not really.
- Sheriff Walt Longmire: I'm sorry. Completely. You didn't deserve that, especially given all the good you do.
- Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan: Okay. Thank you, Sheriff.
- [Walt stands in silence, staring at Dr. Monaghan]
- Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan: Do you want an apology receipt or something?
- Sheriff Walt Longmire: Well, earlier I was apologizing.
- Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan: No. You weren't.
- Sheriff Walt Longmire: No, I was. I wasn't. Uh... I guess I, um... I-I guess I really, um, didn't, um... didn't, um... I mean, I did, um, somewhere in the back of, um, my mind. But I, uh, was, um... It's been a long time. I'd, uh... I just feel we got off on the wrong foot, obviously. Um, I was hoping you would forget about that, and, uh, I'd like to ask you if you'd like to go for dinner with me. There. I said it.
- [chuckles]
- Sheriff Walt Longmire: I mean, sometime soon.
- Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan: My God, that was excruciating
- Sheriff Walt Longmire: Yeah, tell me about it.
- Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan: It was like watching you pass a kidney stone or something.
