Gator Davis: Rangers don't work *for* the army, Truitt. We're working *with* the army.
Beans Wilkins: That's right. They don't give us orders. They offer us recommendations and suggestions.
Henry Karnes: Son. *I* give you a suggestion, by God, you best know it's a damn order!

Historically Inaccurate
Been watching "Texas Rising" and we are very disappointed in it. Why do they have to rewrite History? Only people from Texas and who know the landscape and the history will be the ones who know it but still it's ridiculous. First, the Texas soldiers are wearing union (Civil War 1861 - 1865) Uniforms. The Texas Army of 1836 had no uniforms. Except for Travis who wore a specially made uniform. Second, they showed the landscape 20 miles from Goliad as being a mountainous desert with canyons. Looks like they filmed it in the Davis Mountains, almost 500 miles away from Goliad. Third, they showed black slaves being executed at the Alamo. Bowie and Travis each had a slave. Joe and Sam. Neither were killed. There was no Jupitor. Fourth, The only Anglo Woman who survived the Alamo was Susanna Dickinson and her daughter. She was escorted to report the Alamo's defeat to Sam Houston by Joe and Sam. Fifth, Erastus "Deaf" Smith did not show up at the Alamo until all the fighting as over and the Mexicans were gone. This show on the History Channel is just another fictional story. Really nothing to do with History.
