- As Harvey takes on Professor Gerard as a client in a bribery investigation and discovers that he may have committed an ethics violation, Louis makes a catastrophic mistake with his first client as name partner.
- Harvey's Harvard professor comes to see him and says he needs a lawyer and he wants Harvey. But Harvey, because of something that happened between them, he refuses. But Mike convinces him to represent him. It seems like the man has been accused of taking a bribe when he was working on a case, because he was caught with a lot of money. When Harvey asks him where he got it, he answers Harvey knows; from gambling. He can't say that because he could get fired from Harvard if it got out. Harvey thinks he found a way for him to say where he got it and not let anyone know about it. But Mike preps him, Mike realizes that he didn't get it from gambling. Jessica tells Louis that she told Jeff Malone "how" Louis got back in the firm and his name on the door. She expects him not to tell him otherwise. Louis wants one of Harvey's clients and Harvey won't let him have one. But Donna tells him to give Luis what he wants. So Donna gives Louis a client and Louis is so enthusiastic about impressing her that he makes a mistake that blows up in his face.—rcs0411@yahoo.com
- In a rooftop meeting, Jessica tells Harvey about the bogus story she gave Malone explaining Louis as a name partner. He hates it, because this means they'll need to count on Louis to keep the secret.
Harvard ethics professor Henry Gerard shows up at the firm looking for Harvey. After blowing past Louis, he tells Harvey he's being accused of accepting a bribe from a railroad company for which he did federal mediation. Henry was found in possession of $25,000 in cash but says it has nothing to do with the case. Harvey, due to their long-standing mutual dislike, isn't interested and rudely shows him the door.
Mike confronts Harvey in the restroom about dismissing Gerard as a client, accusing Harvey of allowing people to get screwed over just because his feelings were hurt years ago.
Jessica confesses to Louis about her lie to Jeff Malone. Louis got his name on the wall, but he wants the respect that should come with it. In exchange for keeping Jessica's secret with Malone, Louis tells her he wants a Harvey client of his choosing.
After Mike convinces him to reconsider, Harvey takes Gerard's case. Gerard tells him the cash came from an illegal poker game, an alibi he can't use because it'll mean losing his teaching job. Harvey charges Mike with figuring out another way.
Louis decides that the client of Harvey's he wants to pilfer is Gerard. Though Louis reminds Harvey that Gerard has no respect for Harvey, leading to a heated exchange, Harvey says he won't be giving up a client. Louis leaves. Donna enters and reminds Harvey to be the grown-up, remember what Jessica said about wiping the slate clean, and stop reacting to Louis touching a nerve about Gerard never respecting Harvey.
Mike tells Harvey he's figured out that Garrett Brady, the attorney going after Gerard, must have paid off TSA to search him and find the cash.
Donna tells Louis he hurt Harvey's feelings and brings him a client. It's the first one Jessica gave Harvey when he was made name partner. Louis eventually accepts it.
Harvey and Mike confront Garrett Brady on the street, who confidently tells the guys it doesn't matter whether he bribed the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) because Harvey and Mike won't be able to get anything from the government agency on record, and that case will be approached as a national security issue.
Louis demands Rachel pull info for him on this new client, a woman named Joan Walsh. His brusque manner while lording power over her prevents her from saying anything as he demands she hand over the file right now.
Malone brings Jessica her favorite meal for dinner, happy that "the walls are coming down."
Over dinner with Walsh, Louis screws up royally, in part because he wouldn't pay attention to advice Rachel attempted to give him.
Returning to the firm, Louis demands Rachel help him cover up his mistake. She makes it clear she's not happy with the dynamic of Louis treating her worse than garbage and then expected special help from her when needed. It's late in the day but she will stay and help him because SHE is able to set aside her emotions and act professionally.
Harvey's new plan revolves around the fact TSA-related info won't become public information. If they can convince a judge that Gerard's story is true, he'll dismiss the case and nothing about gambling will ever be known to his employer. Since he did Mike's job for him, Harvey wants Mike to handle the prep interview with Gerard.
Jessica finds Louis still working in the morning and, having heard about his tragic handling of Walsh, reminds him that he better hold up his end of their agreement.
In the process of prepping Gerard, Mike, knowing no card deck contains five queens, figures out his story about winning money at poker is bogus. He brings this to Harvey, who wants to go ahead with the testimony anyway. Mike reminds him that people who tell the truth don't screw up details.
Harvey meets with Gerard, who admits that the money came from a student who needed to buy his way out of a failing grade. Harvey drops Gerard as a client.
Rachel brings Louis a way to fix his problem with Walsh. He's ecstatic but then pulls back and merely thanks her for "acceptable" work. She demands better treatment, which he refuses to give.
Harvey reveals the Gerard revelation to Mike, who can't believe Harvey doesn't want to win.
Through Walsh, Louis finds out that she is a client nobody at the firm wanted. He angrily brings this to Donna, who basically says she's sick and tired of his crap. She angrily tells him to stop being so self-centered, stop treating others like shit, get on board, and start supporting the rest of the firm, because they are DONE fighting for him.
Mike meets with and forces the student who paid off Gerard to sign a contract saying the 25 grand was a loan. His grade will not be changed, but if he doesn't sign and take an F, Mike promises the guy he'll be kicked out of school for bribing a professor and never have a legal career.
Harvey and Gerard discuss the situation. Harvey tells Gerard he paid close attention to his lectures at school. and Gerard apologizes for letting Harvey down. Gerard says he also figured out that Mike (apparently impressing Gerard enough to warrant checking him out) never went to Harvard. Gerard offers to say what the $25,000 was for, but Harvey says it doesn't matter, and not to worry about paying back "the loan" as he has it covered.
Before leaving for the day, Louis fulfills his obligation and confirms to Malone the name partner story he got from Jessica.
Meeting Mike after work for drinks, Harvey decides not to tell him that Gerard discovered his secret. Mike was suspicious, so Harvey denying this comes as a great relief.
