- [Edward Nygma prepares to bury Miss Kringle out in the woods]
- Edward Nygma: [Nygma pours two glasses of wine, with her already in the hole] Well, I'm afraid this is as proper a burial as circumstances allow. But I thought we could have one last meal together.
- Edward Nygma: [Nygma takes off his hat] I was a broken man, Miss Kringle. Two halves at war with each other. But thanks to you, I am whole. I will not forget you. I take you by night, by day take you back. None suffer to have me, but do from my lack. What am I?
- Hunter: [Nygma is randomly spooked by a hunter in the woods standing behind him] That some sort of riddle?
- [Jim Gordon comforts Barbara Kean in the interrogation room]
- Barbara Kean: Don't act all calm and businesslike. Rough me up a little, if you want.
- James Gordon: I don't want to do that. I don't want to hurt you. I want to help you.
- Barbara Kean: I know... you want to hurt me, just a little. I've been a very bad girl.
- James Gordon: No. You're a good woman. You're just sick, is all.
- [Barbara cries in her hands before looking up a bit shocked, as Gordon sits on the table beside her, kissing her on the lips]
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara laughs with tears in her eyes] I knew it. I knew you still had feelings for me.
- James Gordon: Of course I have feelings.
- [Theo Galavan asks Bruce Wayne what his one dream would be]
- Theo Galavan: If you could have one dream come true, what would that be?
- Bruce Wayne: I would find the man who killed my parents.
- Theo Galavan: What would you do if you found him?
- Bruce Wayne: I would kill him.
- Theo Galavan: What a young tiger you are. My dream? I would save this city. I would rid Gotham of corruption, crime and poverty.
- Bruce Wayne: Sounds good. How would you do that?
- Theo Galavan: Oh, I have plans, schemes, ideas aplenty. But... I need help. I need your help.
- Bruce Wayne: Of course.
- Theo Galavan: And perhaps in return, I could help you with your dream.
- [last lines]
- [Edward Nygma follows the blood trail to a lonely trailer out in the woods, as he's pushed to the ground while spying into the door]
- Edward Nygma: [Nygma retrieves his glasses on the ground and sees an awkward, stumbling Penguin] Oh, my. Mr. Penguin?
- Oswald Cobblepot: [Penguin raises a bat before falling to his knees, bleeding out from the gun wound on his shoulder] Help me, please.
- [first lines]
- James Gordon: [in a dream, Barbara Kean walks down the aisle to Jim Gordon] Ready for the practice run?
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara arrives at the alter smiling] I'm ready to skip this and get married
- James Gordon: Me, too.
- Father Callahan: Let us rehearse the vows. Barbara Kean...
- Barbara Kean: Mmm...
- Father Callahan: Do you take James Gordon to be your unlawfully wedded husband to have to hold...
- Barbara Kean: I'm sorry, Father. You said 'unlawfully wedded'.
- James Gordon: [Gordon whispers] Barbara, just answer him, for God's sake.
- Oswald Cobblepot: [Barbara looks back to Father Callahan, and sees a Father Cobblepot who grins] I'm waiting.
- [Jim Gordon speaks to Barbara Kean in the interrogation room]
- James Gordon: They said you'd only talk to me. I'm listening.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara quietly whispers] Yes. Here it is.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara quickly states] Is there any chance I could get a latte or something?
- James Gordon: This is not a game, Barbara.
- Barbara Kean: Oh. Of course it is. It's a game you've been losing. Big-time.
- James Gordon: It is not a game.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara chuckles] It must be killing you. All that righteous indignation with no place to go.
- [Captain Barnes talks to Harvey Bullock to keep an eye on Jim Gordon]
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: He's too wrapped up in this thing emotionally. I need to know that one of you isn't gonna get sucked into all of these mind games that Ms. Kean is gonna be pulling out there.
- Harvey Bullock: Not to worry - No one's ever accused me of getting sucked into mind games.
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: Just follow my orders, understood?
- Harvey Bullock: [Bullock sarcastically replies] Understood, Captain. Glad we had this chance to talk.
- [Doctor Thompkins talks to Jim Gordon about Barbara Kean still having a hold over him]
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: This is you, Jim. This is all you. She sucked you right back in, didn't she? Because she still has a hold on you. Her sickness and yours feed off each other.
- James Gordon: What do you mean my sickness? I'm not sick.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: You see an abyss, and you run toward it. That's not healthy.
- James Gordon: I'm just doing my job.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara walks out in chains] Hey, Lee. You don't mind if I borrow him for a little while, do you?
- [Barbara continues to walk, chuckling]
- [Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock assist in following Barbara Kean's plan]
- James Gordon: You good?
- Harvey Bullock: Anything that makes Barnes' tight ass nervous, I'm all for.
- [Edward Nygma talks to the hunter who catches him burying Miss Kringle]
- Edward Nygma: You know, you really shouldn't sneak up on people; that's not polite.
- Hunter: Not usually any people out here.
- Edward Nygma: [Nygma reaches down to the ground] Can I interest you in a tea sandwich?
- Hunter: A what?
- Hunter: [the hunter looks down at the case buried in the hole] What the heck is in there?
- Hunter: [Nygma hits the hunter over the head with his shovel, as the hunter falls in the hole] Aah!
- Edward Nygma: Great. Not I've got to improvise. Don't go anywhere.
- [Alfred Pennyworth finds Bruce Wayne in the secret room behind his desk]
- Alfred Pennyworth: Ah, there you are, Master Bruce. Been looking all over the gaff for you.
- Alfred Pennyworth: [Bruce sits in silence] Bit dreary down here, isn't it? Fancy something to eat?
- Alfred Pennyworth: [Bruce remains silent] What's up?
- [Alfred Pennyworth tells Bruce Wayne that Wayne Enterprise is Bruce Wayne's legacy]
- Alfred Pennyworth: Wayne Enterprises is not Thomas and Martha Wayne's legacy. That legacy is standing right here. With me.
- Bruce Wayne: [Bruce begins crying in front of Alfred] Alfred, am I wrong if I just want it all to be over. I just want... I want it to be over.
- Alfred Pennyworth: No, no. No, you're not wrong. Come here.
- Alfred Pennyworth: [Alfred hugs Bruce Wayne] You're not wrong.
- [Barbara Kean marches down the aisle of a Cathedral to the tied up Jim Gordon]
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara hums the song, 'Bridal March' to herself, holding a double-barreled pistol in her arms] I know.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara faces Jim in the wedding dress, which she bought for her marriage to Gordon when he previously asked to marry her] Do you believe it still fits?
- [Barbara Kean talks to the tied up Jim Gordon in her wedding dress, in the Cathedral]
- Barbara Kean: Well, this is my wedding dress. The tailor still had it in storage. I mean, can you believe the luck? Or fate.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara aims her weapon at the priest] That's father Callahan. You remember him, of course.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara aims her weapon to the church members] And these bozos... Oh! Who knows? But you can't have a wedding without witnesses. That's the law.
- James Gordon: Barbara...
- Barbara Kean: Jim... Please don't act all surprised or aggrieved. You knew, from the start, that this was a trap. But you thought, 'Hey, let the bad guys take their best shot. I'm Jim Gordon. I'll find a way to win. Or die.'
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara grabs onto the chair Jim is tied up in] It's option B, baby. Your fondest wish to come true.
- James Gordon: [Gordon turns his head] I don't want to die.
- Barbara Kean: Oh. Hey. Sure you do. Aren't you tired of hiding your true self? Tired of lying to yourself? To Lee?
- James Gordon: [Gordon looks at Barbara] I don't lie to Lee.
- [Barbara Kean talks to the tied up Leslie Thompkins about truth, in the Cathedral]
- Barbara Kean: The Jim Gordon you know is an act. He's like an addict who thinks he can dabble in darkness as long as nobody sees the needle marks.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: Everybody has an act.
- Barbara Kean: Did he tell you how he got reinstated with the GCPD?
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: He killed a man for Penguin.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara frowns at Jim] Wow! Very good, Jim. You did tell her.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: We don't have secrets between us. He's done a lot of things that he's not proud of. Everyone has.
- Barbara Kean: But you love him anyway... Is that right? Despite all his faults.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: [Lee looks at Jim] Yes, I do.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara pulls Lee's hair to look at her] Cute little do-gooder, Dr. Lee, mmm... In love with a cruel, cold, death-obsessed sadist.
- [Barbara Kean holds a knife to the tied up Leslie Thompkins neck, in the Cathedral]
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara pulls a knife out from her bridal crown] Do you think you know him better than I do? I love him, too, you know. I know him better than you do.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: Okay, Barbara, I hear you. You love him. We both love him. That's okay.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara holds the knife into Lee's neck] But I love him more.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: [Lee stammers] Okay, listen, Barbara. I know that now. Please...
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara tightens the knife in Lee's neck] I'm gonna prove that I love him more. I'm going to carve your pretty face off your skull. And then you both will understand what true love is.
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: [Lee stammers faster] Okay, just one more thing.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara whispers] What?
- Dr. Leslie Thompkins: Your dress. I - I love your dress. I just want to know where you bought it.
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara stands back pulling the knife away] Hmm. Oh, um...
- [Gordon escapes from the ropes of the tied up chair]
- [Barbara Kean dangles outside of the top Cathedral window]
- James Gordon: [Gordon holds onto Barbara] Hold on. Hold on.
- Barbara Kean: I'm sorry, baby. I've been kind of a bad date, huh?
- Barbara Kean: [Barbara looks to Gordon] I love you, baby.
- James Gordon: [Barbara lets go of Gordon, as he screams] No!
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: [about his concussion] Hey! I told you to get out of here.
- Harvey Bullock: [blinking] You did? Still a lot of ringing in my head. I must've missed it.
- [Bruce Wayne and Theo Galavan are having a discussion about the machinations of Wayne Enterprises near the fireplace, of Theo's loft]
- Theo Galavan: Bruce, your family helped build this city. The Wayne name is synonymous with growth, strength and prosperity. It's also a lie.
- Bruce Wayne: Please explain what you mean.
- Theo Galavan: I've been investigating Wayne Enterprises for quite some time. You know what I found? Toxic waste dumps. Illegal weapons contracts. Use of banned chemicals. Nightmarish experiments. It can't continue. Please, understand this isn't about corruption. It's about saving innocent lives.
- Bruce Wayne: You have my word. I will look into all of it. And I will stop whoever's responsible.
- Theo Galavan: No, Bruce, you won't. You can't.
- Bruce Wayne: People often underestimate me.
- Theo Galavan: Wayne Enterprises is a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate, with a board that will kill to protect its secrets. Who's underestimating who?
- Bruce Wayne: Why are you telling me this? You obviously have a solution you want to propose.
- Theo Galavan: [Chuckles] You control 51% of the voting shares of Wayne Enterprises. If you sell me your shares, I could take control, do what needs to be done. You would be a cash billionaire with freedom.
- Bruce Wayne: You want my company?
- Bruce Wayne: I want to clean up Gotham. Protect its citizens. Return the city to what it was. But I can't do it without your help. Wayne Enterprises is my responsibility. It's all I have left of them.
- Theo Galavan: I'm not just offering you money, Bruce. The night your parents were killed, you weren't supposed to be there, were you? No. Your parents were headed for the theater. Your father changed his mind. Suggested a movie. Invited you along. You got there late.
- Bruce Wayne: Uh, I've never told anybody that.
- Theo Galavan: He was following your father that night. Before the alleyway. I'm a man of considerable resources. Even then, it took some doing. It's why I didn't want to say anything last night. I couldn't confirm it until today. If you sell me your company, I will give you this as a signing gift. This is the name of the man who killed your parents with documentary proof accomplices, motives, why, how and who. I will fix your company, protect your legacy and give you closure. It's what your father would've wanted. And what Gotham desperately needs. I need your answer by the end of the day.
- [Barbara is being escorted by Jim and Harvey in a police car as part of a convoy, in order to gather evidence against Galavan]
- James Gordon: Barbara, listen to me. Are you listening? You have a lifetime ahead of you. Don't throw it away on madness.
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: Gordon, Bullock come in.
- Harvey Bullock: Go ahead, Captain.
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: I don't like this. You're boxed in. There's lots of cover, high vantage points all around.
- Harvey Bullock: Perfect spot for an ambush
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: Yeah, I gotta pull you out.
- Barbara Kean: Turn around, you get nothing.
- James Gordon: Not yet.
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: You hear me? I'm pulling you out.
- Harvey Bullock: What was that, Captain? You're breaking up.
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: Bullock! I swear to God, if you disobey
- [radio shuts off]
- Captain Nathaniel Barnes: ...
