  Theo Galavan : I'd just like to state that, I harbor no ill will toward Detective Gordon and the GCPD. They did their jobs. They're still my heroes. What do you say, Detective Gordon? Can we move forward together to fix this, broken, beautiful city?

  [Gordon takes a swing to Theo Galavan in front of all of the press] 

  James Gordon : [screams]  You son of a bitch! You're a son of a bitch! I'm gonna get you! I'm gonna get you!

• [Theo Galavan talks to the tied-up Detective Gordon] 

  Theo Galavan : My, my. What a difference a day brings. Here, you're the prisoner and I'm free. Fortune's wheel. Turn, turn. These cops? Good men who can tell which way the wind is blowing. Now, we have a very small window. I have places to be, you have to die, but I know you must have questions, so...

  James Gordon : The monks. They... work for you?

  Theo Galavan : For centuries, the order of Dumas has protected my family. They have been a light in a dark world. Shall I tell you a secret? Theo Galavan is a mask. My name is Dumas, and my family built this city out of nothing. But we were betrayed, driven out, erased.

  James Gordon : So, that's all this is about? Revenge.

  Theo Galavan : No. This is about atonement. The ground that Gotham is built on is poisoned by the wrongs done to my forefathers. I will change that.

  James Gordon : By killing nine random people? You're insane.

  Theo Galavan : [laughs]  I can see why you'd think so. Ritual blood sacrifices, bunch of guys in robes, chanting prophesies. It's a bit, too... But belief itself - That's what matters, Detective. Belief gives strength, purpose.

• [Theo Galavan has his men untie Detective Gordon for a little fist fight] 

  Theo Galavan : [laughs]  Ah, what the hell. I got a few minutes. Cut him loose. All right, Jim, give it your best shot. Save Gotham.

  [Theo Galavan and Jim Gordon get into a fight match that Gordon loses] 

  Theo Galavan : [to his thugs as he walks off]  Kill him. Don't make it quick.

• [last lines; Theo Galavan startles Bruce Wayne in the Wayne Manor, standing next to the lit fireplace] 

  Theo Galavan : You've shown mettle and ingenuity, my boy. But that's all done with.

  Bruce Wayne : What do you want?

  Theo Galavan : [pulls out the Dumas knife]  Why, your life, of course.
