What lies beneath... is disappointment

Beginning to end of the episode is must see, but it wasn't what they did that aggravated me, but what they COULD have done...

At some point in the episode, they meet a founding father who had spent so damn much in preparation for Ichabod & Abbie and the success of the good vs evil war. A wealth of knowledge, everything they could ever hope for, and finally some answers to their destinies. But there are "Reavers" and they must be annihilated before they escape to the surface and claim thousands of lives.

So, what is the best course of action? Destroy the library with a bomb to save millions. Yay... A Founding father's life's work in preparation for a war has been burned to a crisp; basically making his efforts seem vastly wasted.

What COULD have happened instead: Obviously they have access to C4 & military grade grenades, so what about coming back with a few M4 assault rifles and mowing them down? They clearly die just as easy as any regular human, and they apparently dunno how to escape their own "home".

The bomb decision was a serious overreaction and the decision should have been better planned. What lies beneath is now disappointment...

If they hadn't used the bomb, my rating would've been a 9/10, but since the bomb was used and therefore destroyed a seriously helpful library prepared by a founding father (who dedicated his life to it), I give it a 5/10... I am very disappointed...
