- Pastor Tim drops into the travel agency to get some help planning the church's mission trip to Kenya, and he invites the whole family to join in on the trip. Philip tells him now isn't the right time, but doesn't elaborate. The pastor suggests to Philip that a kid like Paige needs to be treated more like an adult than a child, which bothers Philip. Tim says he knows teens can be difficult, and Philip asks if he has any kids. Tim says no, but that he has a flock. "It's not the same thing," Philip says. Tim does not try to keep pushing Philip to join the Kenya trip.
Stan and Zinaida are watching "Tootsie" in a theater, when she gets up to go to the bathroom and Stan, and two other guards, escort her. Inside the bathroom, after Stan does a sweep to make sure no one is inside, Zinaida sticks a small folded piece of paper under the sink counter before flushing the toilet and walking out.
Dinner is interrupted when Philip gets a call that pulls him away. Paige seems annoyed. We next see Philip making his way through a frat party where Kimberly wasted.
Back in Moscow, Nina is trying to get close to Baklanov, the scientist, and when nobody is around, she switches to English when talking to him, which surprises him. She tells him she learned English in Moscow -- and in America. He realizes who she is and why she is there.
Philip brings Kimmy home and she tells him he's the only person who really cares about her. She goes to the bathroom and Philip uses the time to switch out the recording device he'd planted in her dad's briefcase. He's struck by a family vacation photo in Kimmy's dad's office, in which Kimmy looks sad. He brings the tape home and listens to it with Elizabeth. The CIA seems to be planning to host the mujahideen, the Afghan natives fighting against the Soviets.
Paige drops into the travel agency, where she hasn't visited in years. Philip puts her to work on some forms and Paige jokes that they're trying to turn her into a travel agent. Elizabeth laughs awkwardly.
Stan stops by the Jennings house, where Henry is playing an electronic football game. Stan invites Henry to play Strat-o-matic, a football board game, with him sometime, and hands a delighted Henry a pirated copy of "Tron." Philip and Elizabeth sit in a hotel bar trying to gather some intelligence on a manager who might be coordinating the CIA's impending guests.
Henry comes over to Stan's place late at night to return the movie and asks about Strat-o-matic. Henry sees that Stan is sorting through all of his and his wife's possessions to decide what he wants to keep. They talk about the divorce and where Stan might live in the long term.

Philip visits Gabriel, who shares some info on a visitor from Islamabad who will be in the U.S. within 24 hours to meet with Philip. He also tells Philip that Elizabeth put in a request to have Philip's son brought home from the war, but Philip says he doesn't want him called back.
Philip and Elizabeth get home and Paige confronts them, asking for "the truth" about their lives. She wants to know why they're gone all the time, leave abruptly, have no relatives anywhere, and that Pastor Tim agrees. She says she needs to know the truth and asks them to tell her, asking if they are in the Witness Protection Program. The parents say nothing and Paige turns her back, saying, "you're just going to keep lying to me." After a long silence, they sit down next to her at the kitchen table and Elizabeth starts to talk, but Philip finishes her sentence and says, "We were born in a different country." Elizabeth explains they moved to the U.S. from the Soviet Union before she was born and "we're here to help our people." Elizabeth tells her that most of what she is told about the Soviet Union is lies, and that they are activists. Philip tells her they work for their country, getting information that can't be obtained in other ways. She's shocked.
"Are you spies?" Paige asks.
Elizabeth says they work for their country and fight for peace around the world, but Paige tells her to stop. Paige is upset and starts to go upstairs, but they stop her and tell her that knowing this information is a big responsibility and she can't tell anyone -- including Pastor Tim and Henry. They tell her that if she tells anyone, they will go to jail for good. Paige says nothing and goes to her room. Philip walks to the phone and takes it off the hook. He asks Elizabeth if she's OK, and she says, "I don't know."
The next morning, Paige is laying in bed when Elizabeth comes in. Paige didn't sleep at all and says she wants to stay home from school. Elizabeth offers to have her or Philip stay home with her, but Paige doesn't want that. Elizabeth says she understands and leaves.
In the kitchen, Henry is telling Philip all about Eddie Murphy's "Mister Robinson's Neighborhood" skit on "Saturday Night Live." The attempts at humor fall flat amid the tension in the house and he heads off to school. Philip brings Paige some breakfast and she confirms that she doesn't want either of them to stay home with her. Philip puts a hand on her shoulder and she remains motionless. Philip gets up to leave and Paige asks them to speak Russian. Elizabeth, after a short pause, says in Russian, "We love you very much, sunshine." Philip translates. Paige turns back over and says she needs to be alone.
Elizabeth tells Philip she doesn't feel good about leaving, but Philip says they can't pressure Paige. They just have to go to work and hold their breath, assuming Paige "won't do anything stupid."
At the travel agency, they're both distracted. Paige, meanwhile, is at home and dials her phone. She calls Pastor Tim and tells him she talked to her parents the night before, told them how she felt and stops short of telling him any details. She just says she wanted to let him know "that it happened."
Stan gives his interview to the FBI internal investigator and says he doesn't know who might have planted the bug in Gaad's office.
Philip and Elizabeth get home in the afternoon and find Paige watching TV and eating a sandwich. She says hi to them, which is progress.
At the Soviet Embassy, Tatiana interrupts a meeting between Arkady and Oleg. After Akrady asks Oleg to leave, Tatiana shows Arkady an encrypted message from Zinaida saying she was threatened by one of "our people." Arkady assumes this was approved by someone and is frustrated that the operation could be in jeopardy.
Stan comes over for dinner and Paige's glance at Stan lingers for a while, to the point where he asks if she's OK. Philip interrupts and says Paige is a lot more observant since being baptized, and everything seems to carry on -- except Paige stays seated where she was at the kitchen table, without getting up.
