Where it is said in the movie itself that the ghosts can't enter the temple The actor Premji as a character in the film was able to enter into the shiva temple and then revealed that he was ghost before the temple scene.
In one of the scene, suriya mentions "ennamma ippadi panreengale ma" which implies the story is happening at present. But, in second half, he met the ghost of Jai, who has been killed in an accident which happened in the movie "engeyum eppothum" which came in 2011.
According to Tamil myth ghosts can't touch eatables and money unless they occupy some vessel.So there is no wonder that the ghosts are able to touch All other objects other than the listings.
