The pilot episode has all the museum exhibits locked behind display cabinets, including devices used to castrate sheep. This version has such tools on open display, able to be picked up by visitors, in addition to several sharp tools hung on the walls. It's unlikely, even at the time, that a museum would have potentially deadly instruments on open display.
In this first episode it's established that George suffers from nosebleeds when stressed or excited. While not entirely forgotten over the course of the series, and mentioned on occasion, it's generally discarded thereafter.
