Sue keeps telling Richard that he never lets her work on the nice cars and that he's cheap with her. I see her point, but Richard doesn't. He says (about the '31) "This ain't cheap and the car is nice" or something close to that. He's being obtuse. He's paying an outsider to their world, and Sue ain't getting to work on it, so he dodged answering both of her statements.
Sue's best lines in the series so far are " He always bring me junk, junk, junk. This time he gone too far." That was about the Bumpside bench seat. I laughed for a solid minute over those lines.
About the Caddy headliner,in '09 I did my headliner in my '94 Deville in about 4 1/2 hours, working alone. You have to peel off the separated fabric layer and then use a stiff brush to get all the rotted foam off of it before laying down the new foam backed fabric.
It took me 20 minutes or so to get the headliner out, but an hour to get it back in and two hours brushing off the old foam before laying the new fabric on (30minutes) and I skipped the visors. $250 with the visors was a killer deal, and Richard whines like a baby over it. I would have just said, "OK, 3 Bills, keep the change".
Not Richard, man. He stalks off to get change, which is a big insult, especially since he jumped Sue over forgetting to disconnect the battery. Sue should have let her boy take the car back and just refused to work with Richard again.
Richard is a funny guy, at times, but not for a guy his age. In my home town, somebody would stomp a mudhole in his ass and walk it dry. Just kidding of course, but it's just about true.
