The police official, Mr Zalmberg, is introduced as the head of the investigation unit (of the Amsterdam police department), which has the rank of a commissioner. His shoulder boards belong to rank of head commissioner, or chief of police.
During the press conference one of the microphones on right side of the table (probably a Sennheiser MD441) is clearly not connected.
