I like to think that I select my TV carefully, our time here is finite, after all.
A close friend recommended this to me when it first came out and I enjoyed the first season very much, but only got around to rewatching and continuing last week.
Having binge watched multiple episodes every night, I just assumed this stonker of an ep was the season finale. Surely TV does not come much better than this.
Every, single, character, in the show plays a crucial part in this episode, strings are drawn tauter than those of a beancounter's purse as we finally realise the scope and implications of LEDA andCASTOR.
Paul's scenes in this episode are as riveting and poised as they are finely crafted and we see he true mettle after two and a half seasons of guessing where he stands and how he feels about the clones.
Beyond the story itself, which is top notch, I just want to give a shout out to the screenplay.
This was inspired; pretty much timed to perfection. No moment was wasted, every scene had a place and a purpose, filled with foreboding and suggestion. Especially the scenes with Sarah under duress. Really, touchingly beautiful... Enough so that I watched the last ten minutes three times in a row.
If Season 3 ended here, it would have been a finale right up there with Lucifer's epic "A Devil of my Word," arguably one of the best sci-fi/fantasy season finishes of all time.
