Deeply Interesting with Deeply Disturbing Elements
4 May 2018 | by gurioelaSee all my reviews

I really enjoyed this film. The themes are quite dark and can even be disturbing at times, but they invite you to use your brains and really think about deep scientific and philosophic questions. It follows a rogue scientist Quint who is trying to save his children from dying of a rare disease - a disease their mother is in a coma because of. Due to this, he engages in all kinds of off-the-books, illegal, risky experimentation in order to figure out a way to stop time and cure them. You really feel for each of the charactars. Even when Qint is doing things that may be immoral and wrong, you are forced to see his perspective and understand it. The antagonist of the film played by Kathleen Quinlan was esxcitingly malicious - Quinlan does a great job, as does her right hand woman played by Amazon Eve. The cinematography and mise en scene are also really excellent. Overall a great watch, intelligent and dark.
