- A new development in Joe Miller's trial surprises the court. Alec and Ellie set up a meeting between Claire and Lee Ashworth, with consequences to everyone involved.

As Joe Miller's trial begins witness summonses are sent out to various parties and Jocelyn warns Ellie that her attack on her husband in the cells might be seen as a means to force a confession. In the court room Sharon Bishop makes great play of Ellie's attack on Joe, which invalidates his confession, as well as pointing to cracks in the Latimers' marriage. Ellie persuades Claire to meet with Ashworth at her old house with herself and Hardy standing by. Unfortunately a heavily pregnant Beth arrives and accuses Ellie of wrecking the trial so Ellie and Hardy take their eyes off the ball - or rather off Lee Ashworth and Claire.—don @ minifie-1
