Who'd have thought Austin would be so lame music-wise? Warning: Spoilers
So, the deal is, every time a different city, it's history as far as the music scene is concerned, the people, the venues, the hype, the general sound coming out of musicians living in and around that place and how all that influenced a whole bunch of people. And in conclusion, how all that affects Foo Fighters' theme, the lyrics and the overall sound of the specific song they record in each historic studio.

Now, in Austin there wan't much going on for all we know (and for all we see), a "rock" scene either nonexistent or unimportant and much of the episode (if not all of it) is all about a single venue that that turned to be a home away from home for many, renowned at the time, country and blues musicians from around the states and gave a chance to new talents who were to be the "big" ones in the years to follow.

The artists involved are few. the bands are three, correct me if i'm wrong. A punk scene that dave decides to show us for not more than five minutes that did nothing? did something? It is vague and not worth mentioning in the lyrics for all we know.

Nothing about the idiosyncrasy of the people of Austin (artitst and audience, promoters, producers) and how they interchanged with each other, how they all evolved artistically, aesthetically when living and acting in and around that city. Hence the uninspired lyrics from Dave, trying so hard to incorporate quotes from these few people who didn't have much to say about the place in the first place.

Let's hope the next ones will be somewhat more to the point with each respective town and studio.
