- Hotrod Ponce, an international businessman and self-taught underdog indie racer who has been racing multiple motor-sports successfully in different parts of the world ends up moving to Norway. After losing one of his main race sponsors, he starts importing classic vehicles from Mexico to Norway, but soon he gets bored and decides to organize the first true cross country international outlaw race in the Americas racing through the most treacherous tarmac and off-road terrain where people die. Ponce makes a plan to do one last pre-run of the race course of the Ultimate Rally that he has been working on for several years and invites some top racers from the USA, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, and China to participate with a $25K USD entry fee and death insurance requisite. So he talks to his private elite contacts and makes a plan to film everything himself using only a couple of cameras to tell his story in case he does not survive.
Before heading to the Americas, he sells his retro Ford Bronco in Norway to get enough money to buy some camera gear and also stumbles upon a classic 1965 Volvo Amazon in a barn in southern Norway which he decides to purchase and export using his International Business knowledge. He later smuggles this Volvo into Mexico to use in the film. Before departing Norway, he gets introduced by two underground female racer friends (Kristine & May Ingrid) to a contraband pirate (Kim aka El Tuna) in return for an entry spot in the Ultimate Rally race. Ponce ends up making a deal with this Norwegian sailor (Kim) to meet him in Mexico to help him with his final plan.
Upon arriving in the Americas, he preps his Jeep, a Limousine, a VW Beetle and Touareg with the help of Jaime and parts sponsored by his racing partners and begins to pre-run the course. He then meets with a heavy duty ex-collector (Padrino Ricardo Jaime) who warns him about the danger of what he is about to face and offers some protection and clears the path for Ponce to continue with the race in locations where the Mexican police and military don't even dare enter. Ponce contacts some multi-cultural friends and his family to help him organize the international competition who experience numerous epic adventures. From this networking, Ponce gets introduced to Nuria who helps him with the Asian racers, since she speaks their language. Nuria decides to tag along and help out on this final pre-run before heading back to China.
When Ponce gets to the final stage of the race, he decides to kick in plan B and pull off something he has been planning for years to help out some local kids and get back at the corrupt government. He manages to pull off the ultimate plan B, but his demons appear and shatter his dreams when he finds out that all the racers dropped out of his race because it was too risky due to the danger in Mexico and the requisite of the death insurance, so he is forced to do something drastic again.
Meanwhile, Ponce keeps the camera rolling to document everything with the help of the cast and his buddy Frodo who helps him in the scenes while Ponce is pre-running his Jeep in some stages like the underground tunnels and 3000-meter high extreme rock crawling stages. Frodo also introduces Ponce to some hackers who end up helping him tremendously with plan B.
At this point, Ponce begins to feel the adversity and calls his private elite contacts to help him out. They send him Brigita from Slovenia and Karmen from Spain to help him pull off his new addiction, and a twist develops that makes them head back to Norway before they get caught.
Towards the end, something happens to Ponce that will change his life, and he wonders if the Ultimate Rally was worth it?
