Ruby tells Hank she hates her mom and that its so much better staying with Hank and Sarah. Hank tells Sandy he has Aspergers and thinks their problems were his fault. Amber tells Crosby shes worried she wont be able to get another job, now that shes pregnant, if the Luncheonette closes. Drew tells Natalie he has to be able to help Amber. Kristina tells Dylan Max has feelings for her. Max asks Adam if Dylan is starting to like him more.

    NOW

As Kristina is fixing Noras hair, Max barges in and asks Kristina how to ask Dylan out. With Adam away on business, he has to resort to asking Kristina. She thinks he should wait for Adam to return but Max doesnt want to wait. Kristina says he should think first how Dylan might respond, but Max says he knows how she is going to respond and is insistent on asking her. Kristina says just ask her and he leaves to get changed.

As theyre cleaning the kitchen, Jasmine tells Crosby theres a filing job open at her moms work and she is interested at least until the Luncheonette gets back on its feet. Crosby doesnt think it will be fun for her. Jabbar comes in and Jasmine tells him she has a new job.

Ruby storms in to the shop, with Sandy following behind her, yelling at each other. Sandy tells Hank she has a conference to attend but Hank has a client meeting so neither can watch after Ruby the next night. Ruby insists she doesnt need a babysitter, promises not to invite anyone over, and Hank gives in as she manipulates them both.

Max storms into the school, looking for Dylan, and ignores a girl who is trying to talk to him. He bugs two other students before going into the school kitchen and finding Dylan kissing a boy.

    CREDITS

Max interrupts Kristina while she is on the phone in her office and insists she expels Aaron Brownstein. He says Aaron is in the kitchen during off-hours, he has behavioral issues, and broke the rules. He freaks. Kristina asks him to calm down and Max storms out.

Crosby shows Camille around the house and points out the baby items as she will be sitting Aida. She says Jasmine must be excited to go back to work, thinking Jasmine is back teaching at Berkeley. Crosby admits Jasmine is just doing filing and its more because she just wants to get out of the house.

Renee is showing Jasmine around the office. She thought Jasmine wasnt going to go back to work until Aida was grown and that doing filing is not her dream job, and guesses she and Crosby are having financial problems. Jasmine says they are doing okay for now.

Crosby and Amber are suffering in the control room as two women are recording an insipid cat commercial jingle. Drew is next to them waiting for his economics grade to arrive on his laptop. Amber wonders why Drew is taking economics as he is notoriously bad at math. Crosby, frustrated with the session, teases Drew by asking him to calculate how much they are making off this client. Amber tells Crosby that they had to take them on at a reduced rate.

Max is passing out flyers to the students demanding that the administration expels Aaron. He hands one to Dylan and she joking says Aaron is a freak but they are all freaks. Aaron comes up to Max and knocks the stack of flyers out of his hands. He calls Max a little bitch, Max shoves him, and they begin to fight with Dylan trying to separate them. Kristina comes by and Max winds up shoving her. Dylan hands her a flyer and Kristina sees one of Maxs reasons for expelling Aaron is excessive PDA. She asks what that means and Max yells that Aaron was kissing Dylan. Dylan looks half-ashamed, half-horrified. Kristina orders the boys into her office.

Kristina tells Aaron he can go back to class. Max tells her everything on the flyer is true. She says she doesnt want to talk about the flyer. She knows he is feeling hurt. He asks if hes in trouble for distributing flyers, she says no, and he asks to go back to class.

Crosby is dancing in the studio when Amber comes in, surprising him. As he collapses exhausted onto the floor, she lies down next to him and tells him Adam landed a toothpaste commercial but at a reduced rate. She tells him that she recently heard a local band named Cornfed. Crosby agrees they are good. She says the band is interested in recording at another studio but that they should go down to the club where they are performing to convince them otherwise. Crosby declines and says he has dinner with his mother-in-law, and when Amber says the band wasnt appearing until 11 PM anyway, Crosby says that is too late for him. Amber is shocked that Crosby has become settled and says that as the creative force for their studio, he has to go with her on this adventure. He finally agrees.

Hank is taking pictures of a model when he takes a break and calls Ruby at Sandys house. She says she is settling down for a quiet evening watching TV. Hank says he hears some voices in the background and Ruby says it must be the TV. She reaffirms that she promised not to have anyone over, and says she loves him. When she hangs up, we see she has a houseful of guests, and two boys carrying in a keg.

At dinner, Renee crows about how nice it was to have Jasmine at work, even though its not her dream job. Then she starts talking about how the bad economy has been affecting a lot of people, and that she in fact knows a friend who got a real estate license and sold a house even with little experience. She suggests thats something they think about. Crosby, seething, pleasantly agrees with everything she says and then gets up to go to the kitchen. Jasmine sighs at her mom and her mom asks Jasmine if she said something wrong.

Hank drives up to Sandys house and sees the party in full swing. As he watches a keg and bongs being brought into the house, he calls Sandy, who is at her conference, who tells him to go inside and bust it up. He says he cant because he and Ruby are at a good place and that she told him she loved him. Ruby comes outside to greet some friends and Hank hurriedly drops the seat back to hide from view. He tells Sandy he doesnt know what to do; she says she knows that feeling. Sandy says shes on her way home.

Dylan comes by the Bravermans late. She asks Kristina if she heard about her and Aaron. She asks if Max is upset and Kristina says yes. She says Max asked her why she liked Aaron but she doesnt know why, she just does. She says Max told her that one day he will like her, but Dylan tells Kristina that she just doesnt like Max in that way. Kristina tells Dylan that that is okay and that Max will get through it. Max comes halfway down the stairs and asks why Dylan is there. Both Kristina and Dylan say she is his friend and came by to hang out. Max says theyre not friends and goes back upstairs. Dylan leaves.

Amber is waiting for Drew outside at school. Shes inviting him to the club to watch the band and then go backstage as she is trying to sign the band its a big night for her. Drew says he cant because he did poorly on the test and now has to study for a re-test. Amber keeps insisting as this may be the last wild night they can spend together before she has the baby. Drew finally gets upset and says that studying is important to him as he has to do well. He doesnt think Amber knows how much money it takes to raise a baby, and that without support from their mom, he is the one will have to earn the money. He heads off, Amber stares at him surprised.

Hank walks into the house and sees everyone drinking. He finds Amber, yells that he is her dad, and tells everyone to get out. As they stream out, Amber stands there guiltily.

Crosby gets ready for the night at the club, including grabbing his stash of pot. Jasmine sees him and tells him its Tuesday. Crosby says first there was the no motorcycle rule, then the comment about getting a new career, and now no pot. He hands her the baggie and when she calls him back, he yells at her about telling her mom that he was having financial troubles. She says she is working a crappy desk job so it wasnt hard for her mom to figure out. Also, she says THEY are having troubles, not just him. He says maybe they should sell houses together. Referring to his night at the club, he says this is how he provides for the family, and storms out.

Hank and Ruby are picking up the trash in the house. She says she only invited four people and she doesnt know where the other people came from. Shes glad he understands because her mom certainly wouldnt, and that shes glad he didnt tell Sandy. Hank admits he did and she is angry. He says she lied to him, and she had told him she loves him just to manipulate him. She drops her bag of garbage and says shes going to bed. She turns back and says hes right, she told him she loved him just to manipulate him, and in fact doesnt love him at all; she hates him.

Arriving late at the club, Crosby cuts in line behind Amber. She says she feels embarrassed about being pregnant. They head in but the bouncer stops Crosby, frisks him, and finds the pot. Crosby argues with the bouncer, and Amber is even more embarrassed. Suddenly she clutches her abdomen and yells at Crosby that something is wrong. He guides her away from the club.

At the hospital the nurse gets a wheelchair for Amber. Crosby asks if he should call her mom or Drew but Amber says Sarah is in Napa and cant do anything anyway, and she doesnt want to stress out Drew.

Sandy comes home as Hank is cleaning up the porch. She asks where Ruby is and Hank says she is asleep and hating him. Sandy starts to laugh because for the first time she feels she is not alone in this. He asks what they should do and she says they will ground her. She asks if any of the kids brought anything good and he grabs a bottle of brandy. They sit on the porch and drink from the bottle. Hank tells Sandy that it hurt when Ruby said she hated him, whether she meant it or not.

The doctor says Amber had Braxton-Hicks contractions and will be okay. Amber apologizes to Crosby for ruining their night. Crosby says the only jerk was the bouncer for taking his bag. Amber apologizes because that band may have been their last chance to save the Luncheonette. He tells her not to worry about that because thats his and Adams job. He warns her that they may not be able to save the Luncheonette, but she reassures him that they can. He says there are more important things that she will find out, as he is finding out, like there are people who depend on you and that you are responsible for, and that you have to support them. Amber asks him not to walk away from the Luncheonette and that they can still fix it. Dylan is having lunch with some friends when Max comes by with a list reasons why Dylan shouldnt like Max over Aaron. Max reasons that it may be because he hasnt properly expressed his feelings for her. He unfurls a poster full of photos of her, and her horse drawing, as proof that he likes her. Dylan is embarrassed and her friends think its creepy. Dylan says she cant take the poster so Max offers to express his feelings verbally. She tries to stop him, but her friends egg him on. He starts rattling off the reasons why he likes her as Dylan grows more and more embarrassed and frustrated. Kristina sees this and asks Max to go to her office; he refuses and continues. Max yells theres no reason why Dylan doesnt love him. Finally she says she just doesnt love him and for him to leave her alone. Max storms off as Kristina follows.

Kristina follows Max as he runs through traffic. When he stops, she tells him she knows hes embarrassed and hurt and that its normal but that she is proud of him because all that took courage. She also liked his collage and was glad he was able to show his emotions. She guarantees that someday, he will feel the same emotions again, but with a girl who returns those emotions. She says what he did was amazing, he dejectedly says it doesnt feel amazing, and they hug.

Amber goes to see Drew in his dorm room. She tells him she had to go to the hospital but didnt want to call him because she didnt want to stress him out. He says that if it involves the hospital that she has to call him. She also doesnt want him to worry about her finances, especially by majoring in economics. She doesnt want him to waste his time on something he doesnt love. He promises her she wont.

Sandy drops Ruby off at Hanks apartment. He is surprised she didnt storm off to her room and slam the door. She says she cant watch TV or go on-line or talk to her friends, so he will have to entertain her. He offers to teach her poker. When she checks her hole cards, she tells him they are bad cards. He tells her that in poker, you have to keep a straight face and dont show any emotion. She jokes that he must be good at it.

Crosby checks on Jasmine as she gets ready for work. He says he hates that she has to do this. She says she wants to. He says he feels like a failure he took a risk, should have played it safe, and should have sold the Luncheonette when he had the chance. She says it was his dream and she can help provide for the family, too. She says theyll all get the chance to shine and she believes in him.
