Summaries

  • Reese must save Elias from the Brotherhood. He can't get any help from Root or Shaw since Shaw's cover is blown and Root is escorting her to underground.
  • With Root's help, Shaw is able to elude Martine, but not before some collateral damage is done to what is now Shaw's former place of work. Unlike Root, Shaw is unable at this time to get a new identity from the Machine, meaning that Shaw has to go into hiding. On the flip side, Greer and Martine have to figure out why Samaritan is/was unable to identify Shaw as they still track her, which they hope will lead to Finch and the rest of the team. With Shaw and Root preoccupied with their immediate task of making their way back to Finch's headquarters using all the camera free zones, Reese is in charge of protecting their next number, namely the team's old friend, Carl Elias. Despite Elias' illegal dealings, they know that they have to protect him against the Brotherhood as Elias has at least maintained order in the criminal world, which the Brotherhood would not do in Elias' place. It seems as if the Brotherhood is able to get to some of Elias' men. The question mark on both sides is a man named Bruce Moran, Elias' investment accountant: Elias wonders if Dominic was able to get to him, while Dominic wonders what strategic position Moran holds in Elias' chain of command. Elias feels he doesn't need Reese's help in protection from the Brotherhood until a specific incident shows him otherwise. Both Elias and Shaw may have other ideas than what Reese and Root have in mind respectively for them.—Huggo
  • Although heavily armed, Shaw does not hit Martine and flees with Root, who arrives at the shootout in the department store driving a motorcycle. Fusco helps them in their getaway route. The Machine delivers the number of Elias, and Reese follows Anthony and him through the boardwalk. They meet Elias' accountant and financial advisor Bruce, and Reese watches Link taking photos of Elias. Then he approaches to Elias and Anthony and tells them that Elias is in danger since the Brotherhood is hunting him down, but Elias does not seem to be worried. Soon Reese saves Elias from a hitman and joins Anthony in his protection. They meet the criminal mobster Gino, but soon they learn that he has joined the Brotherhood. Immediately after, Domenic meets Gino and he learns about Elias' accountant Bruce, and he believes finding Bruce would be the best way to capture Elias. Elias, Anthony and Reese head to an abandoned building owned by Elias where he had restored the penthouse, but the Brotherhood arrives and there is a shootout. Reese and Elias flee and meet Finch in a getaway car, but Anthony is wounded and captured by Dominic. Elias refuses to leave his friend behind and turn himself in to Domenic expecting to release Anthony. Meanwhile, Shaw's identity is compromised and Root keeps her safe. Greer believes The Machine is protecting the identity of the team.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Synopsis

  • Another week, another look at the city's fastest growing gang, the Brotherhood. Can they take over Elias' territory? Are they a threat to Finch & Co. Why isn't Marlo Stanfield in charge? Let's watch and see....

After Shaw and Greer's "asset" exchange a preposterous amount of gunfire across the makeup counter, Root arrives with a motorcycle and gets Shaw to safety. Shaw's cover is officially blown with Samaritan.

Reese follows Elias, who is meeting with Bruce, his CPA/investment advisor. He notices that Brotherhood No 2. Link is also observing from afar.

Fusco helps rescue Shaw and Root from their moving van getaway vehicle.

Reese confronts Elias and his top lieutenant, Anthony. He warns him of the threat posed by the Brotherhood and their newly acquired information about his organization. Elias doesn't seem concerned, but just moments later Reese saves his life by shooting a would-be assassin.

Reese sticks with Elias to help Anthony provide protection. They meet with one of Elias' top employees a boss named Geno. It quickly becomes clear that Geno is with the Brotherhood and Elias has to flee before trouble arrives.

Samaritan's asset updates Greer as to the involvement of a NYPD homicide detective in getting Shaw to safety.

Root informs Shaw that she won't be able to get a new cover. Right now she's a threat to the rest of the team.

Dominic meets with Geno and learn about Bruce. He and Link think Bruce is the key to finding Elias.

Elias brings Reese to an abandoned apartment building he owns. The Brotherhood arrives with guns blazing and they flee to the penthouse.

Greer's asset shows up at Fusco's desk pretending to be DEA and wants to know why he was pulling over a moving van on suspicion of drugs. Fusco knows she's full of it and Finch advises him to steer clear of her.

The Brotherhood breaches the penthouse. Reese and Elias escape, but an injured Anthony is captured.

Finch tells Shaw that Elias is the latest number, but as much as she wants to help he doesn't let her. Root seems to relent and agree to give Reese's location to Shaw.

Dominic calls Elias (who is pinned down with Reese) with an offer: Turn himself over to them and he'll let Anthony and Reese live, try and escape all three of them die. Elias seems interested in protecting Anthony, one of his oldest and closest friends. Reese promises he can get them out of it and gives Elias a gun.

Dominic is attempting to access a vault in the penthouse. It is the reason Elias want to the building in the first place and Dominic thinks it must be important. They try to beat the combination out of Anthony, then offers him a chance to join the Brotherhood. But Anthony is loyal to Elias.

From a remote location Finch helps guide Reese and Elias out of the building.

Root turns on Shaw, injecting her with a knockout drug to protect her and the rest of them. Elias then turns on Reese. He's going to turn himself over to Dominic. Finch tries to talk Elias out of it, arguing that turning the city over to the Brotherhood would be catastrophic. It doesn't work, and Elias allows himself to be taken custody. Dominic changes the deal, adding access to the vault as part of the terms for releasing Anthony. It is a trap, and the vault's combination triggers an explosion that takes out Anthony along with numerous key members of the Brotherhood's leadership.

Finch and Reese discuss Shaw. Their future depends on her laying low.

Greer and the asset talk about the fact the Machine has been able to find blind spots for Finch and his team. He's given her a team of agents to help go after Shaw.

Link survived the explosion with minor injuries. He and Dominic talk about the future and the fact someone else is helping them. They realize Reese is part of "something else."

Elias meets with Bruce. We see that the two of them were childhood buddies with Anthony. Bruce assures him that Elias' principle assets are offshore and "untouchable." They have a list of those who have turned against them. Elias then calls Finch and thanks him and Reese for saving him. He promises them a war is coming and advises them to steer clear.
