Nice short that's low on content but aptly demonstrates how awesome a character Spawn can be! Warning: Spoilers
A mother with some pretty amazing secrets loses her son after he is lured away by sinister dark forces while they visit a shopping centre, and as she hunts for him in the shadowy and eerily deserted complex she eventually comes across the mysterious and powerful Spawn, who helps to save her child from the evil forces before revealing the startling revelation that she is a divine soldier, and has at last been recalled for duty in the war between heaven and hell! Ok so "Spawn The Recall" is only a short film so don't expect any big battles between Spawn and demons or anything, and I feel the need to emphasise on the shortness. At just seven and a half minutes long you barely see Spawn himself, but is that a bad thing? Well I'd say no, because the slow buildup to his pretty epic appearance cranks up the atmosphere and even though you only really see a brief glimpse of him it's satisfying and it leaves you wanting more, in the good way! It's admittedly a bad flick but I have a soft spot for the movie, I must say though that living cgi capes sure look a lot better in 2014 than they did in 1997! I also liked how they did the lighting and the camerawork well, I don't think I've seen a scarier shopping store in my life! This short isn't anything mind blowing or whatever, but it is very cool and it's great to see Spawn pop up in something, and be used more as a lethal and ominous force of judgment than just a banal action hero, so nice work dudes! Even better than the movie

I found the movie to be okay but this short film is something else. It's the spawn movie that all Spawn fans including myself want to see. The acting is good and the voice of Spawn is totally bad ass.The special effects are really detail. Spawn looks very good in this film like they didn't rush it. If your a Spawn fan please go watch this short film.

A concentred story. admirable special effects. working in more than admirable manner. maybe, not surprising. because it is the short film who you want see. as thriller and horror and film about a mother and her son. few elements. each - more than convincing. and a beautiful result. I do not know Spawn, so, I can make a comparation . but this short film could be enough to serve a real inspired idea.

Not much beyond special effects

Warning: Spoilers
"Spawn: The Recall" is a 2014 French fan-made short film, but don't worry, the language here is English, so you will not need any subtitles. The film actually begins nicely with a mother who loses her son and searches him for the rest of the film. Sadly, everything after this solid beginning is completely forgettable as the people behind this threw all kinds of special effects at us without properly elaborating on the story anymore. Such a shame. There was certainly potential for more. The ending is open, so maybe they intended to make a sequel to this one. Hasn't happened so far and for me personally there is not much appeal in this one here that would make me curious about a possible second movie. I hoped this would be better. Not recommended.
