"Maskerade" is a short horror/psychological-thriller film shot completely on Super 8 film using a Canon 814XL camera and Kodak Vision 3 color negative film. It was written and directed by Haven Nutt, and is based on a nightmare she had in 2012. When drinking wine with her filmmaker friends one evening, she shared the dream with them and the idea to make it into a film. They encouraged her to make the movie, and ended up working on the project with her. The story follows a young woman who is haunted by a series of unknown, unspeaking masked people. This day-her life-is an interminable dysfunctional experience. Haunted by the masked unknown that she cannot articulate, she lives in the midst of her mortified mind.
