- Two survivalists try to survive for 21 days in the hot and swampy jungles of southern Nicaragua armed with only a machete... and a roll of duct tape. But an early tap out leaves one of them left to survive alone for 16 days.
- Josh, a Marine from North Carolina and Amanda, a Texas-born dog walker now living in Los Angeles, arrive in the Rio San Juan rainforest along the Nicaraguan/Costa Rican border. They enjoy great chemistry at first, especially when Josh reveals his survival item is a roll of bright blue duct tape. They quickly find a camp, and dig a water hole, and build a platform to sleep above the jungle floor. Even when their platform collapses on Night One, Josh and Amanda can laugh about it. But as the hardships grow, and their preparations for the challenge come to light, problems ensue. Josh goes on an epic foraging mission to give them the food they need. Although he succeeds at finding fruit, the epic mission exacts a powerful toll. Soon, one survivalist's health problems threaten their mutual endeavor--leaving the remaining survivalist alone for the longest period in NAKED AND AFRAID history.
