- A firefighter fights for his life for the sake of his family.
- Firefighter Gabriel "Gabe" Biggs, is a good man who faces the challenges that accompany a life in the fire service on Chicago's SouthSide. He confides in his best friend and fellow firefighter Bruno Armstrong, to try and solve the complexities of juggling his family and career. His wife Samantha, and children Peter and Polly, offer Gabe their own unique set of emotional challenges for him to face, but they all know their love is strong enough to pull them through. When Gabriel, Bruno, and their veteran captain, "Captain Rick", enter into intense circumstances inside a lower socioeconomic strata, Gabe's desire to help those in danger lead them into a showdown with a vicious assailant. "Michael" the assailant is a man of ruthless means and is instantly insulted by Gabe's actions. Michael is set to believe it is all a cause of racism and in frustration has had enough of what life has given him, compounding Gabe's poor decision with one of his own.—Luke Perisin
