When The Swede takes over the persona of Bishop Dutson, his Norwegian accent disappears. However, when he joins Brigham Young en route to Salt Lake City, and thereafter, he takes back his true name of Gunderson, and his accent comes back. Since his "cover was blown," there really was no need for him to speak with a Norwegian accent while working for Young.
At Fort Smith, Cullen holds up a man he calls "Elder Moss." While "elder" is a office in the LDS priesthood, it is normally used as a title of address for either full-time missionaries or general authorities, not local "everyday" members.
Outside Mormon fort were graves with crosses. Mormons do not use the symbol of the cross.
