Highly Recommended Indie--True to form re alzheimers and broken relationships
grfulnfree-7264913 November 2019
I have recently had 2 private pay alzheimers clients and I thought they did a really nice job with detail and accuracy when it comes to the nuances of this disease and the broken relationships that generally come with it. There are alot of "life" tidbits and thought provoking lines within as well which made it thoroughly enjoyable to watch; albeit on the sad side in many parts. It held my attention throughout but is on the slower paced side though necessary for this type film. Its absolutely still worthy of your time without question though; specifically if dealing with similar issues. I also thought the 3 leads did above par acting specifically the old man...he was great, not an easy character to portray with so many varying factors with alzheimers. Well done! Highly recommended.

An enjoyable experience

Sweet little film about repairing an already broken relationship with a father who is losing his memory. Yet, there are some things that the forgetful father remembers and the son has forgotten. It can be a bit slow moving at times, but let's you sit back and enjoy watching the process and the scenery and the acting. Rance does an amazing job of portraying just what it's like for a person of certain age losing his memory. His interaction with the other characters is very fun to watch. There are a few really thought provoking nuggets scattered throughout as well, such as do our memories make us who we are, do we lose our identity if we lose our memories? Although there is a love interest on the side of the film, it doesn't take the limelight away from the true story of repairing broken relationships. I think this was a great film and appropriate for the whole family.

Beautiful ...

A sweet and sensitive film, which portrays the cruel arrival of the German (Alzheimer's) and the repercussions in the family, a slow, simple and melancholic rhythm, but it is worth it ... Beautiful ...

Fascinating Movie

I found this movie to be absolutely wonderful. I have studied Alzheimer's and worked with people with various ranges of this debilitating disease and this movie did a fantastic job of showing the ups and downs of memory, plus how it can also provide some blessings to the family and caregivers. The writing is fantastic in how it weaves the issues and forgotten/repressed memories of all 3 leads. This is storytelling at its best. Well written and well acted. I highly recommend.

Very touching story and great acting. I definitely recommend to spend time for this film instead of senseless comics movies.

Rance Howard Masterpiece!
bikerhiker4617 April 2021
I've lost count of the number of movies I've seen Rance Howard in and I would have to say that he outdid himself in this role. Absolutely unbelieveablly accurate portrayal of an elderly man drifting in and out of reality because of Alzheimer's disease. His portrayal of Jasper was at times terribly sad and at times wonderfully upbeat. I was saddened to learn tht he had passed away in 2017. He will be missed...

I'm just destroyed.

Warning: Spoilers
Alzheimer's is awful. And the amazing Rance Howard portrays a father lost in the midst of this terrible disease. It's just heartbreaking the journey that Mr. Howard takes us on here, in one of final roles.

Another awesome performance here comes from Kelly Greyson as the "mysterious" caregiver hired to help with the old man's care. And it helps that she is stunningly beautiful.

It's a very well done movie that gives a us a glaringly honest look into the life of someone afflicted with Alzheimer's.

And here we run into the IMDB 600 character rule again. Mandating the length of an opinion is Un-American.
