- Detective Murdoch investigates the apparent murder of an inventor who is found sitting in a chair he invented. That chair was meant to provide a mild electrical current as a rejuvenation technique but Dr. Grace is certain that he was in fact electrocuted. He had a young woman with him the night he died but the investigation leads him to inventor Thomas Edison and the main suspect - his son Thomas Edison Jr. Meanwhile, the mayor tells Inspector Brackenreid to speak to Murdoch about Julia's plans to run in the upcoming election - fully expecting he will exercise his authority as her husband. Murdoch makes it clear to everyone that he has no intention of interfering and will support Julia in her campaign.—garykmcd
- As the mobile inventions fair visits Toronto, a participant is found fatally electrocuted in a devise he presents as rejuvenator and used as seduction toy, but was lethally sabotaged. The fatal room was registered by US star inventor Thomas Edisons's less gifted son, Thomas Alva Jr., whose business model is lending the famous name to obscure inventions, to father's 'compromised' frustration. He recently changed employer and has a complicated love life. Murdoch investigates both Edisons and their professional as well as private relations. Meanwhile Crabtree accepts to take his landlady-lover Edna Brooks's bright son Simon to the fair and discovers they need to acknowledge mutually his long-gone father must be dead. William nor his wife take kindly to suggestions from Brackenreid and mayor she should shelve her suffragette ambitions as that compromises his career, yet she withdraws her offer to stand as parliamentary candidate, which the legislator forget to formally forbid.—KGF Vissers
