Broken Land shows a different picture of the immigration from Mexico into the USA. The most films about this topic tell us the story of the immigrants. Broken Land shows us the Americans who live close to the border and the wire. The music, the pictures...everything reflects the depressing atmosphere of the desert and the Americans who are not only protected by the wire, but also prisoners in their own country. There are people who want to help the immigrants, others who are scared by them and also such people who try to hunt them and protect their country. The situation is not only for the immigrants a difficult one. Living close the wire is difficult, no matter on which side.

1h in eerie suspense

The whole documentary consists mostly of monologue by people who live close to the US border near Mexico. One is transported to that place and gets to hear all these different opinions and gets to meet all these different people who talk about their experiences with the border wall. The music is minimalist and the documentary really lives from these moments where you hear nothing but the people speaking. It gives you goosebumps.
Amazing documentary!
