nice

That kind of comedy proposing a delicate situation, a loyal husband and a mistake with not easy consequences. And, sure, a not comfortable end. Nothing special but nice. And that is the most important thing.

The okay ending is not enough

Warning: Spoilers
"Love Is Blind" is a British short film from 2015, so this one has its 5th anniversary soon and it was written and directed by Dan Hodgson, his most recent short film work and also his most successful probably because this one scored a nomination at the Cannes Film Festival and even if it was probably nowhere close to winning the prestigious Palme d'Or, that is still a huge success. First let me say before you read on: If you want to watch this film, stay away from the cast list here on imdb because that one offers a big spoiler. In here we have a woman and man about to make love when the woman's relationship comes around, so we find out she is cheating on him. Frequently you hear in these scenarios that the lover disappears under the bed then and most of the time, that is just a fictitious idea, also because many beds don't even have space under them anymore, but here it is true. And while she goes down (no pun intended) to talk to her man, the lover tries to get out of the house in the most clumsy fashion. Luckily for him, the woman's relationship is deaf-mute, so he cannot hear all the hullabaloo and not even hear when the woman screams advice at her lover because she makes sure she hides her mouth when doing so. She seems to be quite an expert there, maybe it is not her first time of moonlighting. Anyway, I must say that even if I would certainly not say these under 6.5 minutes were a bad film (not at all), they also did not convince me and like I wrote in the title: The funny (not so for the chick I assume) plot twist did not make up for all the mediocrity before. That's why all in all I believe the awards attention is not justified and even if the actors did a solid job and elevated the script this way, I give it a thumbs-down as a whole. Not recommended.
