Exceptional visual representation of this Sonnet
One of the well known sonnet series (#40,41,42) which the word 'LOVE' repeats over and over. After the a few analytical readings of this particular sonnet, we want to give two thumbs up for the director and the team for successful deliverance of the 'subtext' of #40. It is clear that a woman (which is a daring choice of a cast due to the writing is conceived by mainly as a man) is trying to send a 'message' to her lover instead of psychical confrontation. And yet the mystery messenger's mocking, listening and reacting to the woman's devastating confess and her restrain is flawlessly directed. It would have been even better to have some flashbacks or more reactions on the messenger's. But over all, after watching most of sonnet films on this TV series, this #40 is one of our favorites and the ending is just poetic and shows the loneliness and sadness of a person who's heart has been broken but yet needs to carry on because of LOVE. We loved the B&W look and details on the each frame. We do not know the film production aspects but as the avid viewers, it shows the thoughtfulness and preparation for the piece by being at one location. Kudos to the team.
