Joey Essex thinks he's ''exactly the same'' as David Cameron. The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star believes there are similarities between himself and the British Prime Minister, but only recently realised politicians are ''normal human beings''. Speaking to Bang Showbiz at the ITV Gala, held at the London Palladium, he said: ''I might as well run the world. All I'm saying is David Cameron runs the world, Joey Essex runs the world, well country.'' The 25-year-old TV personality was recently on screens for the new series of 'Educating Joey Essex' and revealed what he learnt about the nation's leaders while creating...

If you had to think of one TV star to sit down with the country's politicians ahead of this week's General Election, then it probably wouldn't be Joey Essex.
The former Towie star has previously admitted to having a seriously limited knowledge of what goes on in Westminster, and he's never before voted at an election. So what did he learn when he sat down with Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage recently?
We met up with Joey last week to talk about his first impressions of the candidates, what he thinks politicians can do to improve their reputation, and whether he sees any future for himself in politics...
What was the most surprising thing you learned about the world of politics while filming the show?
"The most surprising thing for me was being around people who are almost like royalty. David Cameron lives behind big gates; do you know what I'm saying?...

How can ITV2 find a way to get its audience interested in the general election? Get Joey Essex involved, of course.
The latest Educating Joey Essex sees the former Towie star learning as much as he can about politics, and meeting some of the biggest party leaders. God help us.
The trailer sees Essex failing to pronounce 'Conservatives', finding out about the Liberal Democrats, and hanging out with Nigel Farage on a boat.
He has also met Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Labour leader Ed Miliband on his journey, which will be documented on Tuesday, May 5.
Sadly, David Cameron turned down the opportunity to speak to Essex for the show. Will he regret that decision come May 7?
To give the show its full title, Educating Joey Essex: General Election What Are You Sayin?! will hopefully end with Essex deciding which party to vote for - and all bets...

Kym Marsh has admitted that she doesn't vote at elections.
The Coronation Street actress said that there is "nothing" that makes her want to engage with politics.
On today's (April 13) edition of Loose Women, she said: "I know you're all going to go 'ohhh', but I don't vote. Shock horror! Why am I going to vote when I don't believe either of them or any of them?"
Fellow panelist Jane Moore disagreed with Marsh's stance, pointing out that people "fought and died for the vote".
"It's part of a democracy. Even if you register a protest vote, you've got to exercise that vote," she added.
Marsh replied: "I appreciate that, but I think it's so difficult. I can't choose between any of them, because there's nothing for me that makes me go [and want to vote]. They promise something, and that never happens anyway."
Moore went on to explain that voting is important to...

Joey Essex has admitted that he thought politicians would be "more professional".
The reality star has recently met with party leaders for his new ITV2 special Educating Joey Essex: General Election, What Are You Saying?!.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live's John Pienaar, he said: "You don't expect people to dig each other out, to be rude about each other, and to call each other geeks and nerds.
"I don't mean to be horrible about it, but you'd think people would be more professional than that. They're adults mainly in that world. It blows my mind."
During the interview, Pienaar also explained the concept of a hung parliament to Essex.
Asked if it all made sense, Essex replied: "It does, in a way."
The 24-year-old has interviewed Nigel Farage, Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband for his new programme, but David Cameron has turned down the chance to be involved.

David Cameron has turned down the opportunity to be interviewed by Joey Essex.
The reality star is currently meeting Westminster's leading politicians for a new ITV2 special Educating Joey Essex: General Election, What Are You Saying?!.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Essex said: "It's a shame really - I don't know if anyone knows but I'm not meeting David Cameron. I've met everyone else out of the MPs. I've only just found out today.
"I really did want to meet him but it's not happening. I'm a bit gutted but he's a busy man, just like every other MP. It would have been just nice because I've met everyone else."
Essex recently met Nigel Farage on a fishing boat, and described the Ukip leader as "reem".
He also bonded with Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg by taking a selfie with him.

Is this the election we deserve? Political journalists were surprised this morning when they were joined by Joey Essex at the Liberal Democrats' press conference.
The former Towie star joined the press gang as he is making a new programme about the General Election called Educating Joey Essex: General Election, what are you saying?!
But of course Essex couldn't resist taking a selfie with Lib Dem leader - and deputy prime minister - Nick Clegg.
Clegg was more than happy to pose for the picture and tweeted it this morning with a message to Essex, saying: "Really nice to meet you this morning. Sorry about the early start! Hope the programme goes well!"
There was also hilarity as Essex reportedly revealed that he thought the name of Clegg's party was the Liberal Democats - but then, we bet Clegg doesn't know what "reem" means.
Essex hasn't actually posted the selfie yet,...

Joey Essex will visit the Houses of Parliament and interview key political figures for a new ITV special.
Educating Joey Essex: General Election, what are you saying?! will see the reality star learn about the world of politics ahead of May's General Election.
He will be mentored by political columnist and broadcaster Isabel Hardman, who will help him work out which political party he should vote for when he visits the polling station.
Essex said: "I've never voted before, but I'm really excited about getting to meet some of the most important people in the country to help me make my decision. I reckon I'll take some pretty reem selfies too."
Phil Harris, executive producer for Lime Pictures, added: "Joey Essex could be the next Jeremy Paxman but with reemer hair and more twitter followers. I can't wait to see what happens when we unleash him upon Westminster."

Joey Essex is set to quiz the UK's political leaders. After travelling 8,000 miles to Patagonia for his latest adventure, we'd have thought Joey Essex would have learnt a thing or two. How wrong we were.
"I find it hard to get educated," he told Digital Spy this week when we caught up with him to discuss Educating Joey Essex: Winter Essex-pedition, which airs tonight on ITV2 at 9pm.
"To me, it's more like torture out there than learning. I learnt as much as you can in Patagonia really."
Which, if these five blunders are anything to go by, is nothing at all…
1. Sea lions eat humans
We admit that through our research, we have found a few very, very rare instances where people have had a nip or two from a sea lion.
But when it came to going diving with sea lions - which Joey didn't end up doing, anyway - he was terrified about being mauled.
