Kevin Bacon, Hays Wellford, and James Freedson-Jackson in Cop Car (2015)

Goofs

Cop Car

Edit

Continuity

After Kretzer is shot he reaches up to the rear driver's side window, covering it in blood. A few minutes later as the boys are trying to escape from the back seat we see the rear driver's side window, with no blood to be found.
The gunfire at the windmill cris-crosses the vehicle yet there are straight-on bullet holes in the front of the windshield. These holes disappear and reappear as well.
The woman who drives up at the windmill parks her card in front of the sheriff's truck. When the boys drive away in the cop car, her car is gone.
When the two boys initially approach the car, all doors except for the driver's door are locked. But when the sheriff leaves the car, he retrieves a duffel bag from the rear seat through the unlocked passenger side of the car. He then closes the door, without locking it.
When the sheriff is first introduced, he gets out of his car and he is wearing a gun belt. As he walks round the car the gun belt is gone, but it reappears later when he takes it off and throws it on the back seat.

Factual errors

When the boys switch drivers for the second time, when they reached the road, the driver got out of the car and the car began rolling forward. They jumped in and the passenger told the driver to use the shifter. The boy put the car in reverse, the reverse lights came on, and the car lurched backwards. The passenger explained that, "P means stop and R means reverse." The driver put the car in park and they changed positions. When the new driver shifted from park to drive, the reverse lights did not come on as he cycled through the PRNDL. Clearly a crew member was in the vehicle ready to drive off as the scene was shot.

Miscellaneous

The sheriff does not defeat the steering wheel lock when stealing the Malibu.
When the man is testing out the gun while hiding at the wind mill, you can see tumble weed rolling in screen from left to right, but the wind mill is facing the other way.

Crew or equipment visible

The cameraman is reflected in Kretzer's sunglasses at irregular intervals.

Character error

When Travis figures out how to make the car go, he only moves the shift lever down once - which would be reverse - but the car goes forward when he then hits the accelerator.
When the kids tried to open the gate by pushing the car, the scene shows the car RPM that belong to Ford Crown Vic 2007 and up. However, the car in the movie is Ford Crown Vic 2002.
