Actual Reality with Uplifting & Fun Results

I happened to come across "It Takes a Choir" during a holiday marathon, watched about three episodes in a row and LOVED this show! Gareth Malone is a choirmaster with intelligence, humor, charm and, obviously, a great deal of musical talent. When he takes on a rag-tag group of people who are shy, afraid of public appearances and feeling disconnected from others, he does MAGIC. Part psychologist, part cheerleader and always musical impresario, Gareth makes people come together and learn to believe in themselves and the power of community. Every time we get to see the culmination of his latest project, we want to stand up and cheer. I got goosebumps with nearly every episode.

Surprisingly Good

I had seen advertisements for this series and thought it would be silly so never bothered to watch it. The other day, I was looking for something to watch. I searched TimeWarner's On Demand and took a chance. I decided to give It Takes A Choir a chance.

I watched the first taping and was surprised -- it was entertaining, heart warming, and kept my attention. Over the next few days, I watched all (15, I think) tapings.

It turned out to be a very good series -- Gareth is excellent at being the host (musically talented, works great with the people, able to get them to open up to the process, skilled at bringing them out of their weak traits, etc). It would be good to see a follow up to see how the singing has affected the community 6 months later, or so. QUESTION: Is this series still airing?
