Science says that dinosaurs lived 65 million years ago. Biblical-based math tells us that the Earth is 6,000 years old. So, how do dinosaurs fit in The Bible? In the 3rd of 7 videos, Dr. Kent Hovind gives evidence that dinosaurs fit a literal reading of Genesis just fine.
In the start of the video, Kent begins with the creationist belief that dinosaurs were on the Ark during Noah's Flood. He mentions that evolutionists mock this idea.
One argument they give is "Weren't the dinosaurs too big to be on the ark?" Kent's response to this is: "Well, the big ones were big, but the little ones were little." Noah wouldn't have brought grown animals, he would have brought babies. Why? Because they weigh less, they sleep more, and later on, they can reproduce more, among other reasons.
I won't give all the details, but Kent gives a few other critiques that atheists give him, and his responses. They seem silly to those he debates, but he points out that Holt Earth Science(a textbook) states: "Progress from a complex chemical soup to a living organism is very slow." That doesn't even happen! Creation may have bizarre explanations, but they fit more than what Biology class explains.
Kent shows a slide with a picture of a dictionary from 1891. "Dinosaur" is not in it. The word "dinosaur" is a relatively recent word in English vocabulary. However, Deuteronomy 32:33 mentions "dragons", as do other verses in The Bible. Even Daniel 14, found in Catholic Bibles, mentions dragons.
Kent shows that many art pieces from centuries ago have dragons that match our thinking on dinosaurs. Art from this time period were like taking pictures, so that shows that dinosaurs were present just centuries ago. Even Vikings from 1000 AD have artwork of dragons.
Referring to The Bible again, he mentions that in Job 40:15-24, God tells Job to "behold the behemoth", and from there He describes the creature in a way that matches a dinosaur. Job lived around the time of Abraham, so this is 2000+ years BC.
Kent also mentions that dinosaurs may even still be alive. In the last half hour of the video, the seminar ends, but he shows a handful of interviews he has with people who have seen dinosaur-like creatures.
While science and the media(like Jurassic Park) tells us that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago, honest study shows that their existence was more relatively recent. And through this seminar, Kent shows Christians that dinosaurs should be faith affirming for them, not faith crushing.
Note: I must confess that the last half hour is just okay. There is some interesting stuff, but it's not as engaging as the first 107 minutes(of 140). If you don't want to hear the dinosaur witness stories, you honestly can stop the movie there and not miss anything. My 10 star rating applies to the 1st 107 minutes. Again, it's not bad, but not as engaging.
Final Note: There are 4 more lectures after this one, but I will not be reviewing them in order to do different reviews. I will continue these reviews in a couple of months. To wrap this up for now, here is my ranking of Kent's videos from best to worst: The Dangers of Evolution, Lies In The Textbooks, The Garden of Eden, The Age of the Earth, Questions and Answers Part 2, Part 1, The Hovind Theory, and Dinosaurs in the Bible. I highly recommend all of these videos, and you can see them all of these videos on You Tube. This series is one of the most faith affirming things I have ever seen!
