- Eyal Lavine: Now, the Talmud tells us that for the sake of peace, one may lie. But peace itself should never be a lie. If you conceal this, it will just eat you up from inside. You'll never find what you're looking for.
- Annie Walker: Being a spy... is all that matters to me.
- Eyal Lavine: I don't believe that for a second. You care deeply about too many people for that to be true.
- Annie Walker: But being in the field is who I am.
- Eyal Lavine: [shakes his head] That's one of the saddest things I've ever heard.
- Annie Walker: [on phone] Hello, Mr. McQuaide.
- Ryan McQuaid: Did you get my gift?
- Annie Walker: [smiles] It's not every day a man gives me a gun.
- Ryan McQuaid: Guns or roses. I hope I made the right choice.
- Annie Walker: [chuckles] I'd better stay away from you then.
- Calder Michaels: What are you doing here?
- Senator Claire Pierson: [acceptance speech droning in background] It was kind of you all to...
- Sydney: Enjoying the party. Yourself?
- Calder Michaels: Not so much.
- Sydney: I'm sorry to hear that.
- Calder Michaels: [moved in behind her] You look beautiful.
- Senator Claire Pierson: Integrity...
- Sydney: [willing accomplice] I know.
- Senator Claire Pierson: ...and moral responsibility...
- [drones on]
- Annie Walker: [front porch] Melinda Wilson?
- Melinda Wilson: Can I help you?
- Annie Walker: I'm sorry to bother you at such a late hour, but we don't have much time.
- [moves to enter]
- Annie Walker: Can I come in?
- Melinda Wilson: No. No!
- [shakes her head]
- Melinda Wilson: Who the hell are you?
- Annie Walker: It's about your husband.
- Melinda Wilson: You got five seconds.
- Annie Walker: Trust me, you don't want to have this conversation on your front stoop.
- Melinda Wilson: [about to close door] Time's up.
- Annie Walker: [blocks attempt] Your husband's good at keeping secrets. Especially from you. How many times has he looked you in the eye and lied? He's doing it again.
- Melinda Wilson: Are you having an affair with him?
- Annie Walker: [shakes her head] No. It's much bigger than that.
- Melinda Wilson: What are you talking about?
- Annie Walker: He's selling classified secrets to terrorists.
- Melinda Wilson: That's impossible.
- Annie Walker: Where's Harris now?
- Melinda Wilson: He's at work.
- Annie Walker: It's almost midnight. Does he usually go to the office this late?
- Melinda Wilson: No.
- Annie Walker: [nods] Because he's lying to you. He's been lying to you all along, but you could help us stop him. Think about your family.
- Joan Campbell: [saw sneaked dalliance] Whatever she costs, it's not worth it.
- Calder Michaels: I keep my personal life and my business separate. This job requires us to compartmentalize our lives.
- Joan Campbell: A coat closet is one of those compartments?
- Calder Michaels: About last night...
- Sydney: Mm. That was fun. Don't you worry, I'm not gonna charge you or anything. Can you zip me up, please?
- Calder Michaels: You know, seeing you there last night...
- [zips up dress]
- Calder Michaels: I'm not used to feeling like that. I was thinking maybe we should go out to dinner, or...
- Sydney: [shakes her head] Don't do that.
- Calder Michaels: What?
- Sydney: [turns to face him] Get tied up. This is no-strings by design.
- Calder Michaels: Last night was not pretend. I know you felt something too.
- Sydney: [with a smile] You're a sweet guy, Calder. And it was hot when you took control. But don't dare try and control me.
- Calder Michaels: Sydney...
- Sydney: [shakes her head] That's not even my real name.
- [smiles]
- Sydney: You should go.
- [kisses him]
- Sydney: But call me.
- [softly:]
- Sydney: Okay?
