Unexpected humor and beautiful cinematography.

Interesting documentary style movie. Unexpected humor and beautiful cinematography. So many tid bits about cowboy culture I've never heard before. It will give you greater appreciation for Westerns and country songs. Quite enjoyable.

A heartwarming story of 4 misfits

If you are looking for a documentary that's not about the usual social injustices, war or pollution, you have a winner here. This is a fun documentary about a yodler cowboy, a trick roper, a rancher and a quilter. They tell the stories of their lives with might and joie de vivre accompanied by awsome music. Watch this and catch yourself having a big smile on your face.

Great Documentary about the American West - Cowboys, Singing, horses, cows
mikadoog4 January 2022
This was a great documentary about interesting people out in the west.

It focuses on some folks that are really creative and talented.

A couple of poets and musicians which you get to hear these original songs.

Also a quilt maker. And then it has visuals of the west - trail rides etc.

Just a nice enjoyable watch.

Traditions & Culture of the Wild West
oj-9338928 December 2020
The place of the cowboy in the modern world is diminishing, and it is great to see a film that documents some real life characters with true pedigree and history. There are great backstories and off the cuff anecdotes passed down from generation to generation, on show also is the interplay between modern life (eg. Starbucks) and the traditions and lifestyle of the cowboys and cultural activities associated with them. Hitherto unknown to me, but poetry and music play a big part in their lives and this is something that is parallel to what you find in most other cultures, people who live hard lives often develop the means to articulate and pass down the lessons they learn to their children and childrens children.

Overall a great way to spend an hour of your time, seeing some real life Americans still keeping the old ways alive!

Wonderful, true depiction of life out west. I'm fortunate to live in the west and I understand the ranching life. This is a movie for everyone - even you city slickers out there can appreciate this film. Well worth your time to view this great piece of film work.

A Passing Time Touching Doc
kcterrell-2504618 January 2019
Make no mistake. This is not a docudrama. It's a straight forward documentary. But it is well made for an Indie film. It's amazing to see that real people keep alive the real old west. There's a lot of good music, good jokes (ala updated OD Cleaver stories), a lot of love, and a lot of respect for the old ways. I found that for two hours I could let my mind roam across other old thoughts and still pay attention to what is going on in the film. It's 100% real and pretty well directed. The time lapse cinematographic of the land is easy and cheap, but really adds to the appreciation of the sense of the film. The film gets a little boring at times, but depending on what you want to watch to pass your time, learn something and enjoy this two hours. It's a one-time watcher, but not a waste of time.
