Romantic teen comedy with usual ingredients , an enjoyable love story , humor and sentimentalism
ma-cortes1 January 2016
Simple as well as sensitive film about youthful , including comedy , drama , emotion , along with colorful cinematography and wonderful songs . Light romantic movie deals with experiences of a lovely adolescent called Valeria , her first lovers and new group of friends . The tale focuses on Valeria (Charlotte Vega), a young girl who has just moved to Madrid after the separation of her mother (Aitana Sanchez Gijon) . In the capital she finds a city full of possibilities with new experiences , good friends and many other things . In his new institute, Valeria is forced to attend a meeting with the counselor (Raul Arevalo) to which also serves other classmates called Raúl ( Àlex Maruny) , Meri (Ivana Baquero of Pan's labyrinth) , Elisabeth (Michelle Calvó) , Ester (Andrea Trepat) , Bruno (Jorge Clemente) . All of them a new amusing group called ¨Club of Incomprendidos¨ . What at first seems a bad start for the new life of Valeria , becoming just the beginning of a stunning life experience . She is reluctant at first but finally falls in love for Raul . Mayhem when Valeria falls for Raul and her friend Elisabeth is also enamored from him .

Hilarious as well as romantic comedy is loaded with funny events , an enjoyable love story , fun situations , and with a distinctly Spanish sense . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable , with more traps the viewer resists any kind , and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few embarrassing . This is a typical Spanish romantic comedy from 2014 with the usual ingredients such as pleasing romance , brief drama , humor topped with a little bit of original elements here and there and improbable incidents . Although is full of predictability and cliché-ness the film results out to be pretty entertaining . It turns out to be pleasantly fun that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever ; an exercise in pure amusement in which entertainment and fun are guaranteed . The screenplay manages to give some laughs from the audience and romantic elements that you never loose your attention from the film . I liked everyone in the excellent cast, and the male and female actors , especially Charlotte Vega and Alex Maruny , they were all very enticing as well as cute together , and the chemistry was agreeable between them . As sympathetic performances from Charlotte Vega who suffers intense experiences that will forever change her live . Charlotte Vega is a beautiful newcomer to the Spanish cinema and she is unforgettable as a very young , free , impulsive and joyful teen . She parades sexily at her best and more relaxed and enticing than ever . The hit of the show is undoubtedly for the fetching Charlotte Vega who gives the best fun screen acting . The character Raul well performed by Alex Maruny seems very passionate towards her . The comedy is mildly amusing , with that said though, I found it worthy to watch just for the pleasure of seeing gorgeous Charlotte and attractive Alex . Support cast is frankly well such as Aitiana Sanchez Gijon as attractive , intelligent , and brilliant mother , she is an accomplished actress and his presence is always welcome . And brief acting from Raul Arevalo as a teacher and Luis Homar .

Colorful photography in juicy atmosphere by Jacobo Martinez , a nice cameraman , he photographed TV series as ¨Velvet¨and ¨Gran Hotel¨ . Being filmed on location in Madrid . Catching musical score by Federico Jusid , deemed to be one of the best Argentina composers , filled with marvellous songs , he has composed successes as ¨The secret of your eyes¨, ¨Ladrones¨ , Felices 140¨ , ¨Papa Francisco¨, Magallanes¨ , ¨Atraco¨, ¨Betibu¨ , among others . The motion picture was professionally directed by Carlos Sedes , though has some flaws and gaps . Carlos manages to keep things moving around at a good pace . Sedes has also worked on film and television as a camera , editor and director assistant . But he is usually TV filmmaker , shooting episodes from ¨Imperium¨ , ¨Gran Reserva¨ , ¨Hispania¨, ¨Desaparecida¨ , ¨Guante Blaco¨, ¨Velvet¨ and many others .

Sincerely a badly translated copy paste of the Breakfast Club
traveller-samurai31 May 2015
Take the Breakfast Club, add some elements of modern juvenile novels like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Fault is in Our Stars and you got El Club de los Incomprendidos. I am still wanting to know how Blue Jeans, the writer of the novel where he based the film, was able to keep free without being punished to copy elements of so much stories to write his very empty story.

While the acting is, so far, regular, the story contains so much elements of those stories (and even, Life is Beautiful) and put them so much sugar, that makes you want to come back to the classic of John Hughes and hug it strongly, because El Club de los Incomprendidos destroys practically all the good things that The Breakfast Club had.

Don't you olvida about me

Warning: Spoilers
It is a cute Spanish homage to Breakfast Club. The acting is irregular and there are lacks that could have easily been avoided. But, surprisingly, the movie is entertaining and mostly fluent. It will help you practice your Spanish understanding skills and will introduce you to a few nice urban landscapes of Madrid. Don't raise your expectations too much, though. If you're a lover of classic Spanish movies, I definitely don't think this one will be remembered to be a part of them. Main actress, the beautiful Charlotte Vega, might have a remarkable career if she plays her cards well (and learns a thing or two more about acting).

El club de los incomprendidos
Nuribe8711 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Welcome to the Spanish version of the Breakfast Club (not meaning that this movie conveys at all the brilliant teen 80's classic). Typical love story of a teenager girl Valeria who meets 'the good guy - Raúl' but is also attracted to this kinda sweet but dangerous skater - César who has problems with authority.

The story is way too predictable; except maybe for the 'crazy girl' who suffers from some type of schizophrenia and sees this imaginary friend Alicia; a representation of her anxiety, depression and insecurities.

The rest of the club is formed by 'the nerd', 'the weirdo', a non-communicative girl who, cliché enough, happens to be a lesbian and 'the strict' super uptight girl who suffers with the pressure of living up to the expectations of her parents.

The soundtrack sucks and no wonder that teenagers suffer from depression by seeing movies like this one where the main characters are all pretty and shallow. A comment from Valeria to the pretty, good boy Raúl is " You are handsome, rich and smart. What else do you want?". Well Valeria, scratch the handsome, the rich (although good for him!), do leave the smart and add some extra adjective to his personality. Probably if he is smart enough he would know he wants much more to strive for a fulling life.

This movie is to be seen (if all) while doing other stuff and leaving it on the background. This story will soon vanish from my memory for sure.

Spanish goldie

I fear this movie suffers from the same biased hate all spanish movies recive. Talking from my experience and my friends, this movie is pretty good. I haven't watched breakfast club (yet), and the misfits club might take inspirations from that one as it seems the same genere, but the overall movie is enjoyable and the ending is amazing. I sincerely do not understand the rating it has.

I saw on other review that the characters are cliché and very typical, but that's precisely the point. As a teenager, you will relate to at least some of the characters. Watching it, a youngster will see thing they can see in Real life. I can't recommend this movie enought. But then again if 1k people have decided that it's rating it's a 5.8, i might be the odd one out.
