This U.S. government training film presents a plan of attack to control flies in any size of community. A case history involving the fictional town of "Jonesville" illustrates the four main elements, which are: 1) Planning - determine the extent of the problem by scientific investigation; 2) Education - inform the public of the problem and the solutions, working mainly through respected community leaders; 3) Sanitation - eliminate the major fly breeding sources (exposed garbage, animal shelters, industrial wastes, and outdoor toilets) by such methods as covered trash cans, sanitary landfills, and the replacement of privies with septic tanks; and 4) Chemical Control - to be used for immediate relief and to supplement the other methods of control.
